Hello Paramount, might be a good date to finally release Ridley Scott's 1492: Conquest Of Paradise on dvd, and use as a tie in. Anybody hear me over there?

Bill Needle 02-08-06 06:22 PM

Wow! That's a lot of Kingdom of Heaven.

ruk 02-08-06 06:40 PM

Sounds like a chance for the filmmakers to discuss the hack-down to the 145 minute verison

dcprules 02-08-06 08:44 PM

Jeez, that sounds like quite the release. I liked the theatrical cut, so I'm sure I'll really like this one.

Artman 02-08-06 08:47 PM

Actually had hoped this release would be later in the yr in Blu-Ray form.. I guess if the price is right I'll get the DVD version for now.

Skoobooz 02-08-06 08:52 PM

Out of curiosity, what is the source of the information?

I can do that in 5 sec: [studio]Cut this to less than 2 1/2 hours[/studio]

Besides the fact that I hated this movie, that's rather lavish treatment. Too bad all of that effort isn't used for more deserving movies, but what the hell do I know

Then why bother posting about it if you didn't like it?

I was just about to say the same thing about you :)

This is great news. I like KoH but I could tell it was lacking. It was pretty obvious that the cuts are what hurt the movie. I hope this DC version does this movie justice.

Trailer commentary? Is this a first?

Dazed 02-09-06 01:14 AM

I hope this is true :)

mzupeman2 02-09-06 08:53 AM

The last half of this movie was pretty cool, the first half since you can tell it was chopped to pieces was rather dull. Hopefully the film gets restored to something great. The movie still has potential but I don't know if I'll waste my money now after seeing the original cut.

Big Worms 02-09-06 09:59 AM

Should be a nice release. Glad I held off from buying it.

If I'm not mistaken, the Cliffhanger: SE had either a commentary or video introduction to the trailer by Renny Harlin.

I agree, I wasn't all that impressed with the theatrical version - and the only way I sense I'll see this is to buy a copy when this edition hits the street - or just wait for a 'used' less expensive copy from Amazon Marketplace.

animatedude 02-09-06 10:57 AM

catracho, what's your source????????

Josh H 02-09-06 12:15 PM

Looking forward to this, the theatrical cut felt like it was missing a lot of plot and character development.

Held off on buying the current release since this one was pretty much confirmed.
