Further Details:

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced a deluxe edition of romantic comedy Moonstruck which stars Cher, Nicolas Cage and Olympia Dukakis. The disc will be available to own from the 18th April, and should retail at around $19.94. The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 track. Extra material will include a Moon, Women and the Fear of Death documentary, another featurette on 'feuds, curses and the family', another featurette on The Art of fine Italian Food, and a tour of Little Italy. We've attached a small shot of the official package art below:

Are they dropping the commentary? I passed on the previous R1 release, and went with the R2 which has the commentary, and is anamorphic 1.85:1.

According to DVDActive, this will have the commentary.

I sold mine a while back, looking forward to picking up this new release...

I'm not shocked that they changed the cover (they can't have those two buildings on there), but did they have to add Cage?

That cover is horrible. It looks like it was done by a 5 year old.

This transfer just doesn't look right. There is some odd movement during pans, and I think this is indicative of a PAL to NTSC conversion.

Oh well, maybe when it gets released on Blu-Ray disc they'll finally do it right.
