Night of the Comet
Night of the Creeps

Also, The Wild Life, which really surprises me that it hasn't been released yet. Maybe there's a soundtrack issue holding it up?

CHiPs!!!!!

Hopefully will come along with the movie currently being made.

These threads are always so popular (well, I like'em); everyone wants to air out what they wish were available. When some of my MIAs have been released in the past couple of years, I've almost been disappointed ... is it better to want them than to have them?

In no particular order (wants for region 1 only, some may be out in other regions):

Pretty Poison
The Wrong Box
The Bed-Sitting Room (was this scheduled for 2006?)
The Decline of Western Civilization I, II, and III

A decent release of Lola Montes ... the separate German and French versions of the film, which have both been found and restored I believe. It's in print now with a weak non-anamorphic transfer, and as such, is the only Max Opuls film on DVD in R1 as far as I know.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains
Brewster McCloud
The Westerner (TV Series)

Orson Welles's Othello back in print with an option for the original soundtrack ... include the new, modified one as well but include the original.

Reflections in a Golden Eye (full color and desaturated color versions included)

Wise Blood
The Dead
The Gang's All Here
Gabriel Over the White House
Ruby in Paradise
Eréndira
Before the Rain
The Blue Bird (1940)
Welcome to L.A.
Mädchen in Uniform
Pandora's Box
1900
Berlin Alexanderplatz
The Fool Killer
Sticks and Bones (TV)
A Taste of Honey (1961)
Who's Minding the Mint?
The T.A.M.I. Show
Darktown Strutters (1975)
Mandingo
Drum
The Klansman
Witchfinder General
The Shooting (1967)
Performance
El Cid
The Last of the Secret Agents?
The Conformist

Decent versions of A Star is Born (1937) and Nothing Sacred (1937), both of which are in the public domain. Supposedly Disney has restored NS from film elements they own through the David O. Selznick library; I don't know whether they have done anything on ASiB.

Ditto for Becky Sharp, from the UCLA restored version. The public domain versions are from Cinecolor prints.

Ditto for a decent version of One-Eyed Jacks.

Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!
Captain Horatio Hornblower (1951)
Mouchette
Black Lizard (Kurotokage) (1968)

etc. ... etc. ... etc. ... etc. ... :)

Who's That Girl and Cleopatra Jones and the Casino of Gold. Come on Warner Bros. Over the Top is out! Also, The Monster Squad in all its 2.35:1 glory.

illennium 02-01-06 04:19 PM

There are still thousands of films to release. For my part, I want everything from Godard, Truffaut, Rohmer, Chabrol, Rivette, Cocteau, Malle, Bresson, Becker, Clouzot, Antonioni, Visconti, Fellini, de Sica, Bergman, etc.

As sad as it sounds I'm waiting for "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" to be released. The ones with Kevin Sorbo. The tv films where released with 3 episodes from series 1 and commentary from Sorbo himself.

The things I want to see have mostly been mentioned...

<b>Thundarr the Barbarian</b>
Fist of Legend (uncut, subtitled)
The Wizard
Star Trek: The Animated Series
Voltron (Go-Lion; preferrably a release like Ronin Warriors)
Hamlet (Branaugh)
Robin Hood: Men in Tights
Macross: Do You Remember Love?
Flash Gordon (needs a re-release)
Godzilla Heisei series (subtitled)
X-Men: The Animated Series

There are others, but they don't come to mind at the moment. There are plenty of others (Miyazaki, Disney, etc.) that are eventually coming.

Robertwoj 02-04-06 01:13 AM

Under the Rainbow
Police Squad!
Star Trek: The Animated Series
Malcolm in the Middle (seasons 2 and on)
Six Million Dollar Man Season Sets

nightmaster 02-04-06 01:16 AM

I'm still waiting for:

Let It Be
Miracle Of The Bells
Blue Collar (Pryor, Keitel, Kotto- had a short release and has been OOP for years since)
House Of Dark Shadows
The Immortal (shortlived TV series with Christopher George circa 1970)

DieselsDen 02-04-06 01:22 AM

ELECTRIC DREAMS

Corny, ridiculous, and undoubtedly dated as hell. But Virginia Madsen is so cute and charming that I would buy in a second.

typecase 02-04-06 02:48 AM

It takes two (1988)
Gummi Bears

nonametofame 02-04-06 03:02 AM

not sure if this was already mentioned, but...

X-Men The Complete Animated Series...originally aired on Fox
and also Spider-man.

Are these two shows in limbo?

Men in Tights is already out and Flash Gordon got a silver anniversary release.

If you already knew, my bad.

Are those even out on R4 as complete sets? I have the Region Free best of series by Xenon and would love to get complete sets of the above.

But not in R1.
Men in Tights is included in the Mel Brooks collection to be released later this year.

'Ol Steve 02-04-06 07:36 AM

There are 2 titles that I sure wish they would get around to releasing. My VHS tapes are really getting worn out and I would much rather replace them with DVD.

1. Nightwing (I know it's an oldy but so am I)
2. The Rough Riders (TV movie I think. Tom Barringer as Teddy Roosevelt)

Flash Gordon still doesn't have an R1 re-release date, either. :(

Plus, I'd like to pick up Robin Hood: Men in Tights individually.

I added Thundarr the Barbarian to my list. Best cartoon theme song ever!

Jazzbutcher 02-04-06 01:08 PM

Zentropa (aka Europa)
Night on Earth
A Matter of life and Death (aka Stairway to Heaven)

I was miffed with Columbia for never releasing this gem on laserdisc and now I am pissed that it has yet to be released on dvd.

Off of the top of my head..

some type of "Late Night with David Letterman" release
all the "MST3K" episodes that haven't been released yet
"The Vacant Lot" (not sure if I'd buy it, but would like to see this again)

On the way:
