Any chance for a season 1 release of "Emily's Reasons Why Not"?

I'm a big Heather Graham fan but didn't have time to catch her new show before the season ended. I've heard the show was really good though. Any chance that there'll be a DVD release of the first season before the year is over? Would be cool if it had a lot of extras, like a Heather Graham commentary and deleted scenes, etc.

It was cancelled after one episode. So your show only had one less episode than Heather Graham's show.

Where did you hear it was good? EVERY review I read said it was simply awful, and watching the one episode broadcast, those reviewers were right!

Apparently 6 episodes were filmed before the plug was pulled, alhough it is not really clear whether or not the remaining 5 episodes will aver air. I would expect that they'll show up over the summer as filler.

As for a DVD, most of the failed shows released had positive critical reaction even if they never found an audience (I'm thinking of things like Profit and Action), but since they could toss all 6 episodes on a single disc for a low price, they may try that as a way to get some money back on this fiasco.

I've heard the show was really good though.
I would love to know where you saw that. I enjoyed this bit from CNN.com:

"ABC committed to the big promotional campaign before even seeing a script for the show," said ABC entertainment president Stephen McPherson on Saturday. The series turned out to be a dog creatively, he indicated.

"Once we saw it was not launching, we felt like unfortunately it was not going to get better and we had to make a change," McPherson said.

As for deleted scenes? See episodes 2-6.

The funny thing about this is that there are billboards ALL OVER Los Angeles right now for this show. I didn't realize it had been cancelled, I thought it was something just getting started. I'd be interested in seeing it just to see how terrible a show has to be to be cancelled after one episode!

Heather Report - Another Disappointing Role for Heather Graham
"[W]ith every ill-chosen, blandly played role she takes on, it gets tougher to distinguish between wishing the poor girl well and just feeling sorry for her.

Saw a huge one on the side of the Metro Bus in DC this morning. Maybe this means we'll see more of Dr. Clock on Scrubs or something...she's too hot to fade into oblivion.

I didn't see the only episode that ran but I heard the whole premise was that she's trying to get a dude to have sex with her and he won't?? WTF was ABC thinking??? What straight man is not going to want to bang Heather Graham any/every minute of the day?

I watched the one episode that aired for the same reason the other five people who watched it did: Heather Graham. Even roughly 22 minutes of staring at Heather Graham didn't stop me from wanting to gouge my eyes out. I've seen funnier funerals. I can't imagine anyone buying a DVD of this.

Did you miss a bus?

I HIGHLY doubt this would hit dvd... like stated, the people who did see it(myself included) didn't really LOVE it, so I think they would be losing money by releasing this... I can only pray that Bill Lawrence calls HG and gets her on Scrubs full-time.

I hope they release this series in full season sets, and not just release a Best-Of collection or just a 1-disc release of the Pilot episode. I hate when they do that.

Yeah, there was a big brouhaha here over ABC and the MTA completely covering the old "architecturally cherished" subway columns with the ads for the show.

And all over the bus stop shelters! Actually the one I pass on my run home from work was replaced yesterday with Beauty and the Geek 2. Ugh.

Shouldn't the title of this thread technically be a Complete Series release - which would be one episode and the unaired?

Now that she has a reputation as "Television Poison", I doubt NBC would want her back on one of their shows.

Don't blame her! She was great on Scrubs. Why should she get the blame/bad reputation because boneheaded TV execs like Stephen McPherson committed and extensively promoted a show they'd never read a script for nor apparently even SAW until it aired.

There is a petition up for people who want ABC to bring back "Emily's Reasons Why Not":

Petition to bring back "Emily's Reasons Why Not"

If enough people sign the petition it will make ABC stand up and take notice. In the end it may not be enough to get the show back on the air, but it could convince ABC to release the show on DVD with lots of special features.
