That's really cheap of them to not upgrade the two non-anamorphic discs. Universal didn't have any hesitation to add 16x9 remasters of Psycho and Vertigo to their Hitchcock box set.
Fox puzzles me with their decisions.

are you freakin kidding me???
I was under the impression that Young Frankenstein and History of the World would be getting new transfers?
If not, I definitely won't be buying this box set.

DVD Talk Special Edition
According to DavisDVD...
"20th Century Fox has announced The Mel Brooks Collection for release on April 4th. The eight-disc set will include Blazing Saddles (on loan from Warner Bros), new editions of History of the World Part I, Robin Hood Men in Tights and Young Frankenstein, along with the debuts of High Anxiety, Silent Movie, To Be or Not to Be and Twelve Chairs. All will feature anamorphic transfers and trailers. "Robin Hood" also includes an HBO special, while "To Be or Not to Be" has a featurette. Retail is $99.98.

Let's hope this report is correct about the new editions (though it looks like they mixed up "Robin Hood" with "12 Chairs"), rather than the article posted by dvdfanatic.

Just want to say that Davisdvd reported that both History of the world and Young Frankenstein would be new editions...so I am not sure where that website is getting their info...I wouldn't panic just yet though....people did that a few weeks back with planet of the apes and we saw how that worked out...anyhow, in case you missed it...
