egads - three of their weakest films (imho).. but at least here's hoping that Fox will give them a decent transfer. now if Fox could only get the rights for the sound shorts and other films!!

What awful packaging! Makes it look like public domain garbage......
In a way, it suits the contents. Two unbearably bad movies that insult the genius that was L&H. and one film (JITTERBUGS) which seems halfway decent in comparison. With the Hallmark releases being so poorly done in quality and programming, it is a pity that the only good representation of L&H will be the upcoming Warner set. Just that one release is not enough to do justice to these cinema legends. Obsessive L&H fans want to have every scrap of film they ever made, so I know some are happy about these films being released, but an unsuspecting consumer could buy these Fox movies and be permanently turned off to L&H, not realizing that these films are so inferior to the joyous features and shorts made during their Hal Roach era. |
I'll take whatever L&H I can get, as long it has been given royal treatment. If so, I'm all over this.
