Family Guy - Season 1/2 - Glitchy?

I did a search on this, not sure if it went back far enough.

I just got into the Family Guy (picked up the first season cheap thanks to Overstock.com)

I watched the first episode and it seemed like the animation was a bit glitchy. Is this a known bug, or just poor animation? OR, did I just get a bad copy. It was not that bad, but it just seemed to flash or something....like the windows in the house or some other things.

Thanks

If I remember, they mention it in the commentary. It had something to do with in the beginning on the minimal budget, if they needed to stretch a scene by a second they froze the video. It being interlaced, you get "shimmer".
