Peter Jackson has stated that he wants to do an SE of it. He said even back then he was filming behind the scenes stuff. It'll happen...just not sure when.

Peter Jackson has stated that he'd like to go back and do SEs of all of his films, especially after the success of the EEs of LOTR. They've already done this with The Frighteners (even though the material was previously available on LD). So maybe he's working backwards, and that means the next one would be Heavenly Creatures, followed by Dead Alive (Brain Dead for you euro folk).

I would love an SE of Dead Alive but I wonder if it will happen with HD coming so soon. I will not be an early adpater if I ever adapt at all so one would hope for an SE on DVD but obviously Peter Jackson is a big fan of the newest technology so who knows. Dead Alive is still my favorite Peter Jackson movie.

Personally, I don't think we're even remotely close to the point where studios are going to be holding back DVD material in favor of "HD". That'll probably happen, but we're talking *years* from now.

since i would love that so much, i doubt it will ever happen. remember, the lackluster bad taste SE/LE.
