Lilo & Stitch SE Back on Track? (Late July 2006)

According to UltimateDisney.com: "Finally and perhaps most exciting for site readers, the repeatedly-bumped two-disc Lilo & Stitch: Special Edition is now supposed to street in late July. As is true of any title not formally announced, all these dates are subject to change and that wouldn't be the first time for many of them."

Hopefully this finally shows up here in Region 1. :D2:

Good news. I never bought the standard release in hopes that the 2-disc SE would someday be released. Hope it doesn't get pushed back.

fumanstan 01-04-06 09:38 AM

Gosh I hope so. I've been anticipating a SE for so long :(

The region 4 NTSC (from Mexico) has been available for over 2 years now:

They list all the dvd features.

If it's like the other Latin American Disney DVDs I know, it should be a R1/R4 dual-zone disc, perfectly good for unmodded players. Don't know if the menus and bonus features are Spanish-only, but that's not my forte.

slop101 01-04-06 10:32 AM

Actually, you're right - it's good for region 4 AND 1 - and though the menus are in Spanish, all the features are in English (since it's an American film...)

I'm in the same boat -- I wonder how popular this particular stance is?

I don't know, but one of you guys need to go and buy the initial release, since double dips are always announced after someone does so :)

and it in DTS as well, sadly I don't have high expectations that the domestic R1 Special edition will include DTS - of course Disney could surprise me.

I got the original used last yr, would've got the SE if they had gotten their act together sooner... now I'll just wait for BR.

TomOpus 01-04-06 05:34 PM

I liked the movie and got the initial release when it came out. I can't wait for a proper SE.

LorenzoL 01-04-06 06:31 PM

A big  if this is true.

Fincher Fan 01-04-06 09:29 PM

Will this be the same as the R4 release?

Seems like a lot of us missed out on this movie for years because Disney is bloody mental.

Rogue588 02-23-06 02:52 PM

I'll believe it when I see it..

PixyJunket 02-23-06 03:52 PM

Oh poo.. I got excited over this bump for nothing. :(

Daniel-A 02-23-06 05:54 PM

Sorry Pixy I was just thinking about this earlier today, and found this thread.

So did the Lilo & Stitch SE 2-Discer get delayed again? Last I heard it was supposed to be released later this month, but I don't see a listing for it at Amazon. Any news?

dizzlle01 07-07-06 05:02 AM

damn it got excited for this bump

PixyJunket 07-07-06 08:25 AM

Leroy & Stitch already came out and there's no word. :(

indianajdp 07-07-06 08:30 AM

From UD.com a day or two ago ....

"Also still on the schedule is Lilo & Stitch: Special Edition, which was first declared on a September 2003 DVD insert. Since then, the 2002 hit's two-disc version has undergone many delays in the US, while reaching audiences in other parts of the world (like the United Kingdom). With its latest penciled-in date approaching in just three weeks and clearly not holding up, Lilo remains "to be announced", though certainly still in the works."

PixyJunket 07-07-06 09:13 AM

Good to hear (I think).

calhoun07 07-07-06 07:53 PM

I got the Australian set a while back. I am constantly astonished that more people don't go region free.
