Will there be an X2 2.5?

Discontinuing X2 suggests there will be, but I haven't seen confirmation of this (and the search function of this forum is useless, as any combination of x2, 2.5, x-men, and xmen yields no results).

Fok 01-03-06 03:40 PM

studio's are greedy, so I'm predicting yes.

cisman 01-03-06 04:45 PM

I imagine so but probably around the time Xmen 3 comes out which is later this year.

bboisvert 01-03-06 06:17 PM

I'd practically guarantee it, probably a month or two before the theatrical release of the sequel.

The question is... will it be an actual improvement, or just the same edition with an X3 featurette tacked on?

OldBoy 01-03-06 06:50 PM

then, wouldn't it have been announced or at least some details?

majorjoe23 01-03-06 10:31 PM

I'm pretty sure I saw some interview with former Ultimate X-Men writer Mark Millar saying he was interviewed for a 2.5 suplement.

John*D 01-03-06 10:38 PM

Don't forget a ticket to X3...

Snowmaker 01-03-06 10:55 PM

Unless they have Famke, Halle, and Kelly Hu's costume fittings as added bonus material, I can't see how they can improve on the previous 2-disk release.

Jackskeleton 01-03-06 11:34 PM

yup, that they will

reverie 01-04-06 06:57 AM

I went in for 1.5, I can't really see myself getting this unless there was some huge difference/improvement. So I'd say I hope not, but it really doesn't make a big difference to me.

Why wouldn't you own both? They are different movies.

jiggawhat 01-04-06 05:47 PM

It was sort of announced. Some of the people who worked on the movie announced that they were working on the special features for the new release.

EDIT: It was Mark Millar

Rimshot! If you weren't joking, then we should assume he already owns X2.

The X2 set is already one of the most elaborate DVDs made (top 200)... why would they need to improve upon it, unless they want to release a director's cut or somethingl ike that (a la "Daredevil").

IG80Nate 01-05-06 01:25 PM

Agreed, X2 is pretty jam packed. They'd have to really dig up something amazing to get me to shell out again for a 2.5.

Keep in mind, Singer will almost certainly have nothing further to do with this DVD.

Dexter Douglas 01-05-06 01:38 PM

I think the only way I'd double dip on this is if the included the blooper reel that was shown at some comic con a couple years ago. I don't remember where it was mentioned but it was in these forums. Yes, I'm just too lazy to search right now.

Dai 01-06-06 12:27 AM

I never picked up X2, in fact, i recently picked up Xmen 1.5!!!

x2 2.5 will be on my list!
