The Best of Sesame Street DVD

Anyone know what this is?

Clicky here :)

Could be some kind of retrospective for adults (but I doubt it) or 3 DVDs packed together, but there isnt even enough information to make a purchase on Amazon! When I told them this I was fobbed off with the usual reply.

You'd think that with its recent 35th birthday, Sesame Workshop would release some sort of Retrospective program. Channel 4 (UK) don't show the program anymore. When the hell did the show become ELMO STREET?

I notice something called THE ELECTRIC COMPANY on DVD in 2006 - I never saw this (I was too young, I was born in 1982 and it was never shown in England), it sounds similar to SESAME though.

I don't know what's on that Sesame Street collection. But in my opinion, a true "best of" for that show would consist exclusively of uncut episodes from the 1970s.

The Electric Company is a show that I liked when I was a kid. It had Morgan Freeman, Bill Cosby, Spider-Man, and the Road Runner.

One of my most potent memories of this show is found right here. Technically, I suppose this is a spoiler, so click at your own risk:

My first concepts of life and death came from this television program, and this episode in particular, as I watched it with my family. It's one of my earliest memories.

That's one of my earliest TV memories too.

Spoiler:
The script in your link reminds me how strange it was that Sesame Street decided not to address David's death when the actor died, after he took over Hooper's store. Spooky...!

i can't believe that sesema street has not been given out in stronger doses. Now I understand that season sets would be a hard sell....but I wish they would at least get some classic episodes out, instead of the hack & slash compilations.

I remember David running Hooper's store when I was younger. :) Do you remember the classic Christmas episode from 1978 (it features the enture classic cast of the show).
I do have some of those compliation videos like the Ernie/Bert one, I just wish they were longer - many great skits get shortened or missed out. But its' nice to see how the show used to look :)

They may have some DVDs with older compliations on at Amazon BUT they seem to be the German version *SesameStrasse" (sp?), this does have some original skits (I know, I've seen it) but most of it is pretty useless if you don't speak German.
