This was a really, really good film. I really have a hard time deciding whether this or Corpse Bride should win the Oscar. Sucks if we are not getting a two disc edition in the US.

According to davisdvd.com, Universal didn't mention in their press release that the DVD contains a commentary track from Nick Park and Steve Box.

Supplements aside, I'll have to stick with my R1 preorder because I'd like to be able to loan this one out to my two little nieces. They've become big W&G fans recently.

it may have been mentioned in this thread and i just missed the post, but Wal-mart will have a bonus disc with the Cracking Contraptions, some games, and perhaps a featurette (that part I can't remember, sorry). anyway, if you bought the last W&G three adventures disc that came out last fall, you already have cracking contraptions, so the remainder of the bonus disc may be nil...

Unfortunately, I don't imagine the Wal-Mart disc would have upgraded the shorts to anamorphic transfers...

I have the older Adventures of Wallace and Gromit disc without the shorts. I was tempted to upgrade to the newer disc but if I get the bonus disc from Walmart it looks like I won't have to.

Same here, but I'd probably go for the region 2 DVD instead of the Walmart bonus disc.

Good review, he really liked the movie. I did as well, so I'll be picking this up the day it comes out.

So if I'm reading the AVForum review correctly, the Cracking Contraptions shorts will be included on the R1 Were-Rabbit release...?

No, only 3 of them. It says, "Cracking Contraptions is a brilliant feature that showcases three inventions in their own little Wallace and Gromit animated adventures."

But other than the rest of the Cracking Contraptions, it sounds like all the features that were listed as being on the R2 release are also on the R1 release, thankfully!

According to the Sunday Best Buy sales paper, it says that there's a R1 1-disc and a 2-disc set. The 1-disc set sells for $17.99 and the 2-disc set is $27.99.

The 2-disc set includes the recently released Wallace & Gromit in Three Amazing Adventures disc.

Is this only a Best Buy offer or what?

That would be nice as I have been tempted countless times to double dip on this title.

Well the original 3 films on the second disc should be in fullscreen. I saw this on another site and it listed the 2-pack as fullscreen & widescreen so theres a chance the movie is presented in the correct aspect ratio.
