And Vader is really Luke's Mom.

And if Lucas ever does release them, that's just what he'll have to call them in order to not confuse anyone.

Randy Miller III 12-13-05 12:20 PM

Yes, but only if you buy the fullscreen version.

illennium 12-13-05 12:35 PM

Why can't people give a straight answer to a question like this? If it's a question of not using search, point the OP to the original thread or just mention the search function. If it's because it's Star Wars and everyone's expected to know the answer, then that's ridiculous. What to one may be the holy grail of cinema to another might be a bunch of people running around in costumes shooting at each other.

Agree 100% with the first point. I am surprised no one mentioned the Search tool yet. That's usually the standard first reply response.

Also, harvey firestein plays Anakin's ghost in ROTJ. And he's fabulous.

Probably because they've already given a straight answer in the other 2 million Star Wars threads we have.

I think they should close this one before it turns into another I hate Lucas/I love Lucas debate...

Here's your straight answer: The original versions of the Star Wars Trilogy will NEVER be available for legal purchase ever again.

There, that should cover it. Close the thread! :)

A copy of the VHS or laserdiscs on ebay would be legal.

Fok 12-13-05 01:39 PM

I like the cover art on the new releases though

No--same movie discs as last year's box set, but this time without the 4th disc of extras

On what planet? Alderaan?

"A" VHS or laserdisc version would be legal. Not a copy.

You are in quite a mood today DFNYC.

I think he meant a copy as in "I bought a copy of that movie at Wal*Mart today." Not as in "I made a copy with my DVD burner."

How many threads do we need on this set. Its just the existing box set minus the 4th disc with new cover art. thats it.

bboisvert 12-13-05 04:26 PM

But did they fix the audio issues?

(just kidding)

IF he ever did release them (yeah right), it would be titled something like Star Wars: The George Lucas raped my childhood special collectors edition.
