The Shield starts in January and is supposed to run 21 episodes if i remember correctly. That runs up through May and then Rescue Me would start in June. But I would be ok with the dvd in march and the show in april! Let's hope its that soon.

21? Are you sure? Because no FX show has ever run longer than 14 or 15 episodes, to my knowledge. I mean, I would LOVE for you to be right. But I don't see that happening.

Yeah it was announced in October I believe. They added an additional 8 episodes to the original planned 13 for 21 total 5th season episodes. The only thing I haven't read is if they are going to definitely run all 21 straight through or take a break in the middle somewhere like Battlestar Galactica or something.

Definitely looking forward to season 2 -- I thought it was a stronger season than the first and can't wait to watch it in its entirety a second time.

On tvshowsondvd.com site, you can help Sony select the Season two covers:

Here is the link of the article:
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=5108

And here is the link where you can vote for the cover. Voting ends 02/17/06.

As stated in the above article, no date for the S2 release has been announced yet.

God, I hated the "Falling Leary" promo pic. I voted for the standard boring one.

Normaly FX releases these 2-3 weeks before the new season starts.

Well, I would've voted for anything but the falling down cover. So yeah the 2nd cover is pretty plain but it's not the falling down cover.

I also voted for the second picture since the first picture reminded me too much of s1's cover.

Agreed and it sums up his character's life so well that I could not help but pick it.

My exact thoughts. IMO, that falling pic is just awful looking.

Note that saying "the first cover" or "the second cover" isn't a reliable reference. Gord stuck a randomizer in there so that which cover is on which side of the poll is different each time. It helps out with psychological issues (i.e., some people will always vote for the item on the left). So for one person the "Falling" cover is on the left, for others it is on the right. Just FYI.

My problem with "the falling cover" is simply in Leary's facial expression. It's silly. It almost looks like someone farted and he's smelling it halfway through his fall. If he had anther expression I might consider it.

That's kinda interesting. Anyway, when I said "second picture" I meant the falling down one.

Well, this is the cover that won...and the one I voted for!

From DVDActive.com
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has sent over details on the second season of Rescue Me which stars Denis Leary, Michael Lombardi, James McCaffrey and Jack McGee. The four-disc package will include all thirteen episodes of season two, presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with English Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. According to our friends at TVShowsOnDVD.com, the set will include twelve deleted scenes, six behind the scenes featurettes, a gag reel, a sneak peak at season three, and preview trailers. You'll be able to own this one from the 9th May, priced at around $49.95. We've attached art below:
