I never said I was pleased with those defects, but they are minor enough that I can live with them. The price was great and my discs are fine. Some here have said their sets were sent destroyed, so I feel fortunate. I wish some of them had taken pictures so we could see what sort of damage they were dealing with.

Rumor...

Mine looked like that on the top, but just a smaller tear...seems like it's just the material it was made with, if most of us received it like that from various stores. Mine came from Wal*Mart but it actually came in a box, not a bubble mailer like some said. Discs are all fine, a small tear is fine with me, its in the back part of it so its not even gonna show.

Well, mine was about the same as yours, ripped more tho. I considered the box destroyed. However, I am a perfectionist with stuff like this and always make sure everything get is perfect. It may be me just being anal retentive, but I could not stand looking at the box like that, it bugged me so much, lol. My girlfriend can't stand when she goes shopping with me, I examine each DVD Box, shake it to make sure the disk isn't loose, and just make sure its as perfect as possible. She says, will you just take the next one and go. I just don't have it in me, lol.

Holy crap. Mine looked the exact same way. Are they all like that or what?

jackepstein 03-30-07 06:36 AM

lol, mine looked the same too; except that one of the side corners has a big dent in it.

Wildo1966 03-30-07 07:47 AM

It appears the box was not made very well, mine arrived fine, but it seems to be getting worse every time I open the set, the back gets really bad especially with the big fold in the middle. This box is horrible compared to the Wrestlemania Anthology box...

neilo13 03-30-07 08:33 AM

I saw about 4 or 5 boxes at retail that had the same tearing issues, Thank goodness I found one that was near mint (well two really, first one had disc issues).

I am also leery about how long the two halves will stay attached, it does not seem very sturdy. I don't have the WM box, was that like a top part that slid off? that would be way better, and would get rid of the spoilers when you open up the outer box (nitpicking here), but I'll be damned if it isn't an impressive looking set despite the probability of falling apart at some point.

Wildo1966 03-30-07 08:37 AM

Yes the Wrestlemania box has a slip off cover, much better than the Rumble box. My only suggestion (I did this) is to buy a 24 count cd/dvd disk case and store the set in there, I housed the 20 disks in a 48 disk holder and put the box on display, that way I don't have to handle the box anymore....

l8nerduke32 03-30-07 10:09 AM

It looks like I'm just the same as a lot of you....I am very picky when it comes to these types of things too. I figure if i am going to spend that much money, I want something that will only have defects caused by myself such as handling it. As far as watching these things multiple times, I really dont plan on watching them that many times. I will watch them once to make sure they arent defectvie discs and then they get put on the shelf.

When it comes to these expensive large sets, I will only purchase them from WWE Shopzone, that way I can exchange it or send it back until I get one that is acceptable. My Rumble Box is in perfect shape, I dont see any defects what so ever and havent had any issues with any of the discs yet...As far as WrestleMania goes, I bought the limited edition Leather Box autgraphed by Vince McMahon from Shopzone, so the box seems a little more sturdier than the retail version. I only took off the plastic enough to slip the lid off and watch the discs, then replaced it and pulled the wrapper back over the top...Of Course it would have been nice to do the same with the RUmble box, but there was not way to open it and keep the plastic intact.

Yeah, I really have no idea why they switched up the design. Besides the tearing issue, you also have to take out cases 1 and 3 if you want to get to cases 2 and 4. With the WrestleMania boxset, you could just pull out whatever you needed. It's a minor thing, but it's still annoying.

davethomasowns 04-01-07 09:23 AM

Just a quick question. If you buy the individual packs from the wrestlemania anthology, is there anyway to get the box? It would be considerably cheaper with my bbuy discount to buy those 4 sets by themselves since we no longer carry the whole boxset together.

And if not, where would be the best place to purchase the set? Every B&M place I find it at, there's that $250 tag!

jackepstein 04-01-07 10:06 AM

The WM set is $169.99 at FYE B&M.

Eriecke23 04-01-07 11:11 AM

davethomasowns 04-01-07 11:37 AM

I just got into wrestling again, only got like 20 titles, and I haven't looked around much, but the bestbuy I work at has in stock unforgiven and one night stand 06.

davethomasowns 04-01-07 11:39 AM

Thanks. I called back, and he once again told me the price was $249.99 so I asked him to check and see if there was a sale he was unaware of. Indeed it was 170. :)

Who would've thought that FYE would be the place I could find it cheapest.

Just out of curiosity, anyone know if FYE matches their online prices?

Nope, they don't price match. Still, you could get their discount card which gives you 10% off every item in the store, even if it is on sale.

You might check Wherehouse Music's website (wherehousemusic.com).
They sell used dvd's and even have a wish list option. You add titles to your wish list and they will notify you by email if or when they get one of the ones you want. That's how I got my copy of WM 16. I paid $40 for it, but it kept me from having to buy the 4th volume of the Mania Anthology and also from having to put up with the blurred scratch logo.
Anyway...good luck in finding those dvd's. They're not getting any easier (or cheaper) to find.

It really depends what is decent price for you. Many of those DVDs are out of print and the ones that have the old WWF scratch logo are worth more, since it has been blurred in future releases. Check amazon.com or the completed items list on ebay so you can benchmark the prices.

I have master dvds of Royal Rumble 2001 & Survivor Series 2002 for trade if anyone has other masters to trade.

Eriecke23 04-01-07 01:38 PM

Drew I'm interested in both of the DVDs you have. What are you looking for in exchange for them? I have many WWE masters, about 30 Ring Of Honor Masters, and some TNA Masters.

drew4824 04-01-07 02:13 PM

Can you email me your list of WWF/E dvds to [email protected]

Both of you are bootlegers and internet shills. Both are being reported to the moderators. Keep your crap out of this forum.
