IMO DDD is the LAST place you should go to order WWE dvd's, I have never had success with them with wrestling dvd's, they never ship them on time and I have had to wait forever for them....

I bought the Piper set last sunday because he has always been my favorite wrestler. It's good, but i don't believe it's possible to properly cover his life or career on 3 dvds. There were so many things that were left out. I would love to see another set in the future.
Maybe if this one sells well enough it will happen. Also, i read where the "Hot Rod" underwent surgery this week and a tumor was removed from his spine. The family is waiting for the results. Let's all hope for the best and pray for Roddy and his family that it won't be cancerous.

DDD has always been good to me when buying WWE DVD's. I just got the WWF Tought Enough S1 3 days after I ordered. Never had a problem with them in that regard.

Has anyone picked up the AWA dvd yet? If so, how about some details.

nodeerforamonth 11-22-06 01:13 PM

Can't find the AWA dvd around me...

I decided to go ahead and pick it up at Circuit City (on sale for $17.99 this week). I watched the last half of the documentary as I started on the chapter about the Superclash show at Comiskey Park in 1985. It went from there to talking about Stan Hansen walking out on the company, Curt Hening becoming champ and then leaving in 88, the Superclash III pay per view match between Lawler and Kerry Von Erich (18 years later and Lawler has yet to be paid for that match!), and on to the dying days of 1989-90. It ends with Verne Gagne being inducted into the Hall Of Fame.

For extras the first disc has a bunch of stories from the likes of Bischoff, Michael Hayes, Bockwinkel, etc. The second disc has the matches, which I have not had a chance to view yet.

I just copied and pasted this from a wrestling news site. I thought some might be interested...

"...Wherehouse Music stores will have an exclusive Kane DVD, priced at $5. The DVD will be released the day as Kane's horror film "See No Evil" will be released on DVD. Featured matches for the DVD include: Kane vs. Shane McMahon (Unforgiven '03), Kane vs. Shawn Michaels (Unforgiven '04), Kane vs. Matt Hardy (SummerSlam '04), Kane vs. Edge (Vengenance '05) and Kane vs. The Undertaker in an Inferno Match (Unforgiven '98)..."

If you have all those ppv's on dvd, then it doesn't look like it's worth buying unless they produced a documentary for it. I doubt they did though since it's being sold for so cheap.

I'd still like to pick up a copy of that Kane bonus DVD, but I have never heard of "Wharehouse Music".

I would like to get that since Kane is my favorite wrestler

If you ever go there one day just to buy some DVDs, don't, because their prices on DVDs are ridicious and way over MSRP

lastofthewild1s 11-23-06 02:35 PM

I think Wherehouse Music is somehow affiliated with FYE. For instance, Wherehouse Music offered the Unforgiven 06' packaged with the Trish Stratus dvd just like FYE did. You might check an FYE if you're interested in the Kane dvd.
I have a Wherehouse Music near me and I agree, their prices on new dvd's is ridiculous. However, they do have decent deals on used dvd's and cd's. I only buy used from them.

I don't have FYE here, just Wherehouse Music, yeah, I also buy used CDs from them also but not DVDs though

FYE, SUNCOAST, SAM GOODYS, WHEREHOUSE and SECONDSPIN are under one Group of Company. Thus, what you see from these stores are somehow similar.

lastofthewild1s 11-23-06 07:08 PM

A funny tid-bit about the Wherehouse Music near me...
For about six months in 2003 the lights on the first "e" in the word "Wherehouse" on the store's sign was messed up so when you drove past it at night it looked like it said "Whorehouse Music".

Darth Pipes 11-25-06 05:15 PM

Just got the Roddy Piper DVD from WWE Shopzone on the official site. It DID include the fourth disc.

Really? I am suprised, I thought the bonus disc is exclusive from Circuit City only, guess I was wrong, hopefully you didn't pay over $30 dollars for it though

Erik68 11-25-06 06:54 PM

That is odd, since the Disc ID for the 4th Piper disc is...

RODDY_PIPER_CIRCUIT_CITY

Erik68 11-25-06 06:57 PM

On another note...

The SRP for the 20 Disc Royal Rumble box set will be

$269.95

Should retail at Amazon/DDD for around $175 and change, (35% off SRP)

DVDFreaker 11-28-06 03:14 PM

I just went to Music Wherehouse to pick up the bonus Kane DVD, that is a shitty cover art and a shitty main menu also but for 5 matches for 5 bucks, can't really complain, hopefully they will release a nice DVD set of Kane in the future

Thanks for the heads up, I got it preordered..still need to get the Wrestlemania Anthonology sets.....

Leechboy 11-29-06 07:36 PM

Here is hoping that the Royal Rumble Anthology set doesn't have crappy flipper discs that freeze constantly.

Phineas444 11-29-06 09:08 PM

Any news if they're gonna break up the Rumble sets into 4 seperate ones like the WM set?

Erik68 11-29-06 09:19 PM

Amazon has put up Rock's Greatest Matches, a 3-disc set to be released June 5th, 2007. This is according to Amazon a WWE/Genius Products, Inc. release.

king slug 11-29-06 09:27 PM

I can't wait for the Survior Series set to come out. I'll definitely pick up the Rumble box, I'll hold out to see what the WWE comes out with. Hopefully a leather bound set.
