i would also chalk it up to dumbness. perhaps, the "powers that be" don't realize the importance of such a track. i mean to not advertise such a fantastic track is really stupid. my purchases are sometimes predicated on the DTS or not. just about every DVD i have heard with DTS simply trumps any DD 5.1 so to not tell me, the consumer, it isn't there is heinously miscalculated.

Well, one thing is for sure...the DTS track sounds amazing and made this purchase that much sweeter for me. I never did buy the original version, though from what I have heard, this is DEFINITELY worth the upgrade.

I'm definitely going to pick this up, sometime soon. My friend bought it, and we watched it Saturday morning. It was a pleasant surprise. I'd been wanting to see it since I was a kid, although I never expected it to be so disturbing.

Yea, I thought it was a pretty decent flick too. Defiently Paul W.S. Anderson's best by far. I forgot this came out, I should go pick it up soon. "Where we're going, we won't need eyes to see." Sam Neil rules.

I love that an actor as solid and reputable as Sam Neill has no problem signing up for the genre fare: The Final Conflict, Dead Calm, Memoirs of an Invisible Man, Jurassic Park, In the Mouth of Madness, Event Horizon, JP3, etc.
Oh and that wacky Snow White: A Tale of Terror with Sigourney Weaver.

I don't think I've ever been so disturbed by a film. Anderson said he wanted to make his 'Hell' like Bosch paintings...mission accomplished. And to know what was actually going on in those split-second shots...like ...
'fess up, now: How many of you froze and advanced this DVD frame-by-frame in those scenes?
*raises hand*
Holy God, what a scary movie. This is the first one I can honestly say no one under 18 in my family is going to be allowed to see. Yikes.

I saw it for my first time, a month and a half ago or so. It really disturbed me. Overall, I thought it was a relatively good movie, and it was quite interesting/entertaining. I ended up buying it.
