Thank goodness. The wait for this one hurt me. I had to miss the season and am dying to catch up.

Very cool. Now if only they'd announce Carnivale s2.

Great news-my day has been made. I too missed S2.

Why don't any of you watch it on demand?

Mr. Cinema 11-21-05 07:36 AM

This will look good next to my Season 1 set, which for some reason, I haven't watched yet. Still waiting on Entourage Season 2...

That's what I was going to say, having just finished watching the last six episodes that way last week.

Don't have HBO, and rarely watch any shows on TV at all. I would much rather just buy it and watch the whole thing within a couple days. I know that on-demand would allow me to do this as well, but by buying them, I have great packaging (HBO does some of the nicest packages for their TV stuff), and the ability to watch it again later down the road when it's not on on-demand anymore.

I was disapointed a bit in Season 1 because they killed off Wild Bill so soon. What's the timeline of the 2nd season? The 1st season was about 1876 has the 2nd season moved on a bit ? I don't have HBO either.

Patrick Mirza 11-22-05 04:31 AM

Extras will include nine commentary tracks and four featurettes.

As I recall, the second season starts not long after the end of the first. I found it even better than the first season, by the way, and can't wait to see it again. And nine commentary tracks? Wonderful.

You probably know this, but Wild Bill's quick demise is based in history; he didn't survive long in Deadwood. I do agree that it's disappointing -- Carradine's performance was wonderful.

JOE29 11-22-05 07:06 PM

I understand that Wild Bill didn't last long historically in Deadwood, but I would of liked them to stretch his time out a bit more for television's sake, since he's one of my favorite western characters, that's all.

Cameron 11-24-05 11:31 PM

i still have yet to grab the first set...i don't buy much tv on dvd, but this show is killer

smackattack 11-25-05 01:13 AM

Wild Bill was awesome. You could say the same about calamity jane. She comes back in year 2, but it seems a bit forced this time and has lost her magic. I guess historically she did come back and die in deadwood. Im assuming she goes in season 3.

Season 2 is good, but it gets a little too smart for its own good at times. Some peeps i know were put off when they went off the deep end with political scheming and such. Still, the start of season 2, the first 3 eps or so are the best of the series, it then wanes a bit in the middle and finishes strong.

Pretty funny. First of all, not even TvshowsonDVD has that information. Second of all, I don't think any HBO shows have that many commentary tracks.

Roy Batty 11-25-05 01:30 PM

Frankly, I was disappointed in Season 2. I felt it was much inferior to the 1st season, but that (for me) was also true of The Wire, with Season 3 bringing back much of the excellent writing and acting of the first season. So, I'm hoping the third season of Deadwood can show a comeback. That series and Band of Brothers are some the best TV ever programmed.

RavenTwo 11-25-05 02:21 PM

I guess this goes on my next DDD wishlist! Thanks for the info
