Family Guy Vol. 1 & 2, ..... DISCONTINUED??

According to my DVD Aficionado listings, both sets are discontinued. Is this true?

Yeah, I suspect that this relates to a repackaging/reissue... like the T-shirt set that was released to promote the new TV season.

No, because I see those ones in there too and they don't say DISCONTINUED. I've got the original releases.

Unless they just labeled the wrong ones.

That's all of them. Its only Season 3 that's sold separately.

Seems to me like you answered your own question right there.

EDIT: Sorry, I now notice your question was "is this true?" A: Dunno, probably. Seems like they discontinued the old version and put out a new one with a bonus disc (at least for 1&2).

It says DISCONTINUED it for both Vol. 1 (Seasons 1 & 2) and Vol. 2 (Season 3).

And yes, my question was IS THIS TRUE?

I noticed this yesterday, too. Odd. Perhaps there's yet another release coming to go along with the Volume 3 release?

I doubt it's true. These are still good sellers. It looks like, considering one SKU for the volumes is discontinued and one isn't, that Fox simply moved to the new SKU going forward, whether or not it actually comes with the bonus DVD and T-shirt.

Probably a new UPC. But they could be revamping these sets hoping to get people to double dip on them. I hear there might be a good price for V2 sometime after a certain turkey holiday. I got V1 last Black Friday.

What could they possibly add to make double-dipping a necessity?

Possibly more commentary tracks. I read that they recorded those for all episodes, but only a fraction of them were on the sets. They could also restore the cut footage from those 3 or so episodes.

I wouldn't mind all the original commentaries. Some of them made it on the Freakin' Sweet Collection it seems if you listen to them.
