Cheaper By The Dozen SE ---> 11-22

Not that I was holding out for this, but while doing a price search I saw that the SE comes out on 11-22-05, so I guess I'll wait and get this one.

So there's hope for Leonard Part 6?

Cheaper by the Dozen was actually a decent movie, though. Not one I'd double dip on, but if I had not bought it, I'd be all over this SE.

Tom Baker (Steve Martin) and wife Kate (Bonnie Hunt), hoping to bring their family together for a memorable summer vacation, take their 12 offspring to the rustic Lake Winnetka. But their retreat soon becomes cutthroat when they enter into a competition with the over-achieving members of a large family headed by Tom's long-time rival, Jimmy Muraugh (Eugene Levy).

Went to Toronto to see the Yankees play the Blue Jays this summer and they had "Cheaper By The Dozen 2" night. (The movie was still being filmed in Toronto in early August) They had one of the younger cast members throw out the ceremonial first pitch, a couple of others work on the ground crew and during the seventh inning stretch, about six or seven of them dance to "ugh" Ok, Ok Blue Jays, Blue Jays, Lets-Play-Ball or whatever their theme song is. They also had a drawing for a screening party where you and ??? number of friends would see the movie and some of the actors will be stopping by.

When I saw the members of the cast at the ballgame, none were ones from the first movie so I thought the sequel would be based on a whole different family. (There was no mention of Steve Martin, Bonnie Hunt, Tom Welling, Hillary Duff etc so I figured, looks like it could even be a straight to video release.) Guess I was wrong as it seems all or most of the orginial family are back for the sequel and cast members I saw are part of the family led by Eugene Levy's character "Tom".

I enjoyed the first movie but not enough to get on DVD - even if they threw in a free ticket to the sequel - and will probably wait for the sequel to hit HBO (as thats where I saw the first one) or rent it via Blockbuster Online.

LB...

PS: Blue Jays must like doing movie theme nights when they play the Yankees as the previously year, it was "Without The Paddle" night as Seth Green/Matthew Lillard and Dax Shepard were in attendence and they had the whole crew throwing out the first pitch-a drawing where you could win a special screening of the movie etc. Wonder if I'll be 3 for 3 attending another movie theme night when I go up there next year?

I liked the first movie okay and my son really likes and watches it every few months, but no way I'm doubledipping on it.
