The Century Mark

2. ilikebreakdowns - 132

3. Chad - 120 (Original goal set: 100)

4. Crazee4DVDs - 119

5. gutwrencher - 112 (Original goal set: 130)

Gotta give props to gut - even though he was on track for 240 and didn't reach his goal of 130, he still hit an impressive 112 despite his plans being derailed due to a few days of hospital stay. :rock2:

6. Mondo Kane - 104

7. Sweet Baby James - 100

8. mikewendt - 88 (Original goal Set: 101)

The man with some of the best odds to win it all disappoints us all and DOES NOT reach the goal someone else set for him. :D Although, he did rack up quite an impressive list if you count everything watched.

9. Shack - 85

10. Dimension X - 79

11. Giles - 76 (Original goal set: 102)

Giles - you jokingly set a goal and didn't reach it, but racked up an impressive number nonetheless. ;)

My apologies if I left anyone off the list or got your numbers wrong. If I did leave something off, it was probably due to your list not being numbered or not being updated. Anyway, just let me know and I'll make the necessary changes.

Special thanks to Giles for providing the list of participants on the first page and Cameron for suggesting this whole thing be posted in a seperate thread. Thanks to everyone who particpated...hope you had fun...see you next year. Drive safely. :bye:

GameGenie 11-05-05 09:13 PM

Wow 223 horror movies thats impressive. Well i didnt even get my goal of 50 but at least i watched some horror movies i never saw before. Ive been building up my horror dvd collection recently so next year i might be some competition.

JiM T 11-06-05 12:59 AM

Impressive! Thanks for tallying everything up!

JiM T (aka #29 w/28)

The Monkees 11-06-05 01:55 AM

Yea! I made #26 with 30 movies!

steelpotato 11-06-05 01:57 AM

Thanks for the challenge, it was a lot of fun and I hope everyone had just as much fun as I did :)

Last 2 weekends I've attended 24 hour movie marathons here in NZ (that have had some juicy premieres for us) so I'm pretty movied out lol.

Fincher Fan 11-06-05 02:59 AM

Congratulations! Someone give this man a job!

Spiderbite 11-06-05 08:27 AM

17TH PLACE!

Thank you for the recognition. It makes it all worthwhile now! ;)

Cameron 11-06-05 09:18 AM

yah yah...i know...wait til next year...wait til next year...

JOE29 11-06-05 11:34 AM

I enjoyed it, even though I only could do 15. 38th place for me. Sorry to say but that's about all I could do in this busy month of October. One thing though, you have me down twice, #38 and #56. Obviously I made the 38 spot.

OldBoy 11-06-05 12:40 PM

that's a cool list...thanks for doing it Chad.

I do want to take this time and plea for a continuation.

See I have been uprooted from my living situation temporarily due to unmitigating circumstances. i live on my mom's couch right now and she only has a DVD player and no set up. i am in the middle of "Jason Goes To Hell" and have a few in the que. I want to continue my horror movie viewing for a couple weeks because of this uproot. I know it won't really count, but I would like to think (at least in my head) that it does.

Thanks for your consideration and cooperation.

RichardW 11-06-05 04:19 PM

I'm going to buy some Universal Classic Monster and Hammer Horror DVDs for next year! Look out, steelpotato! ;)

Thanks for the recap, Chad!

TomOpus 11-06-05 05:08 PM

I'll try to participate next year (if it happens). I'll be sure to schedule some extra days off from work :)

Drexl 11-06-05 05:20 PM

Will there be a Christmas movie challenge?

RichardW 11-06-05 05:44 PM

I wouldn't mind a science fiction movie challenge, but I won't be ready for something like that until the beginning of the year.

Mr. Cinema 11-06-05 05:50 PM

Let's have a new rule next year. You have to have a full-time job to participate.

;)

Scott Weinberg 11-06-05 06:05 PM

Ack! I totally forgot to do a late update! Still, I'd have only logged about 40-45 titles.

Fun stuff, fellas. See you next October.

That's true. That would be enough sap to kill a diabetic.

How about a summer blockbuster challenge starting on, say, Memorial Day weekend? 100 movies that grossed $100 million or more (domestic) during the summer.
