I was one of the idiots that double (or was it quadruple?) dipped for the Star Wars VHS that came out right before episode II---->I heard rumors that it would include the deleted scenes.

I'll doubledip if the original trilogy is released or possibly if new 2 disc versions come out with new special features (especially some vintage stuff). I will never doubledip for the prequel trilogy unless it comes in an uber-monster gift set.

If Georgieboy were to relent, and release the original trilogy in it's original form (restored but not revised) I'd probably rebuy. Other than that, I'm done.

The only way I will buy these films again is if the unmolested "OT" versions are included in a box set.

I barely understand what that is, aside from knowing it's a bad thing, and am not good at noticing it.

Removing edge enhancement isn't going to get me to doubledip, especially on a disc I got for free.

I'll buy whatever they put out. I'm a slave to the Star Wars franchise...except for the crummy walmart exclusive disc that came out today...f that thing.

No poll???

Unless they add 5 more surround sound channels on the OStW versions, I won't budge. Though, I wouldn't double on Eps 1 - 3, only the originals.

Why the heck not? I'm not the one to usually double dip, but under the right circumstances, sure.

I would double dip if they released the original versions on DVD (though this is not likely).
I would double dip if they release the original trilogy with corrected transfers fixing the lightsaber gaffes, the swapped left and right channels, etc.
I would double dip if they went and gave each of the original films its own bonus disc of extras.
I would double dip if they re-released The Phantom Menace with a new transfer without all the edge enhancement.
I would double dip for new extras such as commentaries, deleted scenes, documentaries, etc.

If any new releases have kick ass new extras and/or more special effects touchups I'll jump on them.

I like four of the six Star Wars films, but not enough to own them. So zero dips for me.

I'll probably re-buy the OT again, but I think DVD versions of the new trilogy is quite good enough.

I dont own the current "original trilogy" versions. Ill wait for a better boxset to come out before I take the plunge (unless i can pick the current one up cheap).

This is it for me. No more double dipping for me. I have all 6 movies and that's going to be it.

I haven't bought any Star Wars flicks yet but I'll probably get the eventual six-film boxset we all know will come.

DVDreview is reporting that it was stated that Lucasfilm won't take long in releasing the films in HD

I'll double-dip on the OT if it's the original, unaltered versions. Otherwise the next time I dip will be for the HD/Blu-ray version.

Haven't bought any yet, so my first and only will be the box set of all of the films. Actually (preparing for crucifixion), I've only ever seen "Revenge of the Sith".

It would take a lot for me to double dip on these. I now have all 6 on DVD and I still have the original trilogy on VHS. I don't really care if the original versions are ever released on DVD. I consider the Star Wars matter closed until Episode 7 starts production.

On a similar note, wouldn't it be a pisser if they stealth fixed the issues with the '04 OT in this new release coming out? Like the reversed surround score on ANH, the sabers in ROTJ and ESB, etc.

Depends on the extras. If they add significant extras (new commentaries), I'll double dip. If not, I'm fine with what I have.

I wish to amend my previous statement.

The ONLY way I'd buy any more Star Wars on DVD is if the original, unaltered trilogy comes out on DVD. I do have it on VHS, but it's full screen - I didn't know better back then.

Otherwise, no amount of commentaries or extras is going to get me to spend more money on movies I already have.
