The Exorcism of Emily Rose 12/20

From DavisDVD.com:

Sony Pictures will release The Exorcism of Emily Rose on December 27th. The thriller will be available in separate PG-13 theatrical and unrated editions, each retailing $28.95. Stay tuned for disc features. Also look for the film to be released on the UMD format.
This is very cool news...I'd love to see what the unrated edition will have! They should have some special features about the true story.

Missed this in theaters, heard it was decent and I'll look forward to the unrated.

Great movie. The unrated version is one of the top priorities on my wish list.

I myself hope they have some features about the story of Anneliese Michel.

I will consider getting this only if the features are really good and they get into the real case. I hope it comes fully loaded.

It also is probably worth noting that the rated is 119 minutes while the unrated version is 121 minutes. So apparently we might actually be able to see some pretty good stuff as the term "unrated" has been thrown around way too loosely nowadays.

Artwork for both the theatrical cut and the unrated cut is now up and DVDAnswers. I like that they kept the theatrical one sheet as the cover art, but I would have preferred that they not messed with the color scheme for the unrated version. Also, could they fit any more words into that top banner?

Unrated cover bottom right corner under the quote reads "Epert and Roeper". Hahaha!

Usually the term unrated DOES get thrown around a lot in a bad way. But I don't see how an extra two minutes gets us excited. There's a lot of movies that add only a minute or two of stuff that you won't notice much anyway. Unrated doesn't really mean we're going to get more creepy stuff, it just means we could get an extra two minutes of somebody talking. It wouldn't have been submitted for a rating, so it's still 'unrated'... and it decieves people into thinking they're in for a real treat just because the cover of the case says 'unrated'. Rated and unrated versions of movies being released in this manner are all too common now, almost as common as being able to choose wide or fullscreen.

Sad but turue Mz. But there have been plenty of horror films in the past where the unrated version is only 1-2 minutes longer. And they contained quite abit of graphic/explicit additions to make them worth it.

I doubt that will be the case with this film, but you never know

One of the best cases in point is the Exorcist Version That You've Never Seen. I think that the addition of the spiderwalk and those images in her room when the mother comes in were great.

Touche dvdman, touche. I really do like 'the version you've never seen' as well, due to the extra short scenes and the images placed all over the film.

Best buy is including a bonus disc with the 50 minute Documentary that came on A&E:The Real Exorcist.

I think I'll use my best buy gift card and pick this up.

I actually like the unrated art a bit better since the top banner and side pic blend in with the gold, rather than sticking out on the white. Wonder if they were going for a similar look to The Passion, the font looks the same...

I knew about an hour into watching this movie in the theater that I was going to buy it on DVD. I really like it.

I saw this when it came on A&E. It was interesting, but some of it was laughable. Most of the "possessed" seemed like they were either bad actors or crazy.

Often times, actors can are bad AND crazy.
