Firefly, without a doubt. I've probably watched the show at least 5 times over. Outside of how much I love it, it's also an easy TV watch as, unfortunately, it's only 14 episodes. If I need anything on in the background, I'll always default to this too. (no cable or anything, I just stick to my DVDs)

Pointyskull 10-20-05 07:41 AM

Donnie Darko
Hedwig and The Angry Inch
The Director's Series Boxed Set

matome 10-20-05 07:53 AM

Too close to call between Leon, The Thing (1982) or Kill Bill.

DJ_Longfellow 10-20-05 07:54 AM

Probably, Nightmare on Elm Street or Revenge of the Nerds or Star Wars. However, I'm still trying to catch up on DVD viewing, so it's rare when I re-watch a movie lately.

However, HBO-HD kept showing I-Robot for a week straight, and I seem to catch it EVERYtime. hehe.

I have a 400+ backlog of unwatched DVDs, so there are very few DVDs that I see more than once with original audio and once with commentary. There's only one that I've seen more than three times on DVD: Solaris (Tarkovsky, 1972) - I've watched it five times now, including with commentary twice.

Mscott716 10-20-05 09:09 AM

I would say "Jaws" the most..sometimes I just let the opening menu thing play over and over in the background..the water, bouy dinging sounds..lol.
Then maybe the Night Stalker double feature, The Car, Somewhere in Time, The Birds

steebo777 10-20-05 09:10 AM

Lebowski. Glad they're releasing an updated version... my old copy was getting abused.

ShagMan 10-20-05 09:12 AM

Tough call. I'd have to go with:

Aliens
Fifth Element
Spaceballs
Star Wars IV

I guess I'm showing my colors, love those Sci-Fi movies!

Goldblum 10-20-05 09:18 AM

Probably Glengarry Glen Ross

clark_nova 10-20-05 10:01 AM

Tough one. Perhaps the one I have personally watched the most is either Halloween or The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. When people come over and say they haven't seen Chopper though I always put that on for them to watch, it's a great film.

I would have to say Gladiator (DTS) for me. Following that closely would be Brotherhood of the Wolf, Hunt for Red October, Jurassic Park (all of them), and The Mummy.

However, if the question is referring to the most played dvd in my household then it would definitely be one of the kids movies....Dora the Explorer, The Cat in the Hat, or one of the many Disney movies.

grundle 10-20-05 10:20 AM

Drop Dead Fred. Maybe about 30 times.

Because I love watching Phoebe Cates be all sweet and innocent and vulnerable in almost every scene.

And because it's very funny.

And because
Spoiler:
I love how she stands up to the people who are bullying her, and takes control of her life.

I would be the matrix for me, about 6-8 times or maybe more I don't know exactly.
It's the first dvd I got with Enemy of the State (watched that once about 4times)
Funnily I haven't watched either movie since about a year...

I also saw ghost in the shell quite a few times, I own the dvd since a few year.

Other movie I brought more recently and watched 2 or more times
-Once upon a time in the west
-Sanjuro
-the hidden fortress
-in the mood fore love

Green Smurf 10-20-05 11:44 AM

Napolean Dynamite
Chasing Amy- I watched that movie so many times that I actually wore the dvd out and had to get a new ne.

I've got the Criterion so I'm afraid I'll scratch it. I guess I should pick up the MGM release for a viewing copy.....although I'd feel like a huge nerd if I did that.

- Little Shop of Horrors (1986)
- Hero
- Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

meshershark 10-20-05 12:50 PM

"The Bourne Identity" and "Brotherhood of the Wolf" (Canadian SE - great edition). For some reason I can rewatch those two more often than any others. "Abyss" would be up there too, if only it were anamorphic. "Firefly" has the potential to creep up into this short list, but with the bigger time commitment I've only managed to watch it twice.

mbs 10-20-05 12:53 PM

Probably Eraserhead. I really enjoy repeat viewings, however, most re-viewings have been due to friends insisting they view it (I refuse to loan it out, but that is another story).

Otherwise, with around 2,000 DVDs these days and a large pile queued to watch, I don't repeat a disc more than a couple times very often.

marcellusk 10-20-05 02:08 PM

Tv show: King of Queens
Movie: Baby Boy

George T 10-20-05 02:32 PM

Repo Man, because "The life of a repo man is always intense."
