I almost voted for cleaver, his collection is solid.. but I hated Monsters Inc with enough passion to push my vote the other way. Sorry man, but you're gonna get the Fly anyway.

Man, both collections are so boring. Decent movies but none that belong on a top-ten list. My vote goes to jfrost because of his inclusion of Undeclared and because of my distaste for Superbits.

It appears that more mainstream "safe" choices win.
I've already got my list worked out for the next time we do this, and I fully expect another first round exit... but it's the list I want to put together, so that's more important to me.

I went round-by-round, head to head, and here is how I have it:
1- Cleaver (medium close: if only it was the REAL original trilogy, lol)
2- Cleaver (not close; BHD is a great dvd but only an abover-average movie)
3- Cleaver (very, very close but the Ebert commentary seals the deal)
4- Cleaver (not close; t2: ue set the standard for dvd extras; also, it is just a more enjoyable movie in my opinion)
5- Jfrost (not close, True Romance is a great movie and a wonderful dvd)
6- Jfrost (very close; movies in my mind are equal, but usual suspects has good extras)
7- Cleaver (not close; like Woo but you can't beat the greatness of Simsons S5. Plus there is a commentary on every episode, gotta love those Simpsons dvds)
8- Cleaver (very close, but what can you say about the Godfather).
9- jfrost (not a huge Monsters Inc. fan, and Undeclared is a great series)
10- Cleaver (medium close; two words: Hamster Factor. Greatest. Movie. Documentary. Ever. Besides. Hearts. of. Darkness.)
So Cleaver takes it 7-3. Great choices though Jfrost.

jfrost's Collection:
I'm not a fan of "True Romance" or "Usual Suspects" (personally,I just think as films that they're overrated), but everything else I quite enjoy watching over and over. The inclusion of "Fargo" and "Undeclared" (which I think are often underrated by most people) pushes this collection into the winner's circle for me.
Cleaver's Collection:
Definitely not a fan of "Monster, Inc." or "12 Monkeys" (again, it's a personal thing), and I think the entire LOTR trilogy is overrated (although I like the first installment very much, especially the extended version). (I'm probably , also, one of the few people on the planet who isn't a "Simpsons" fan, so that pick didn't do it for me, either.)
So, it came down to a couple of films on one list that I liked more than a couple of films on the other list that I didn't like as much.
(JFrost, don't forget to send me your copy of The Fly after you win it. Just kidding. )

Tough choice. I voted jfrost. Star Wars, Jaws, Fargo, Usual Suspects...good stuff there.
jfrost, I think you meant to say that the poll closes on Monday, October 17th at 11:00am.

It came down to the two big-guns their first choice. SW or LOTR : Jackson or Lucas
I like and own almost every item in both collections. The only ones I don't have are their TV stuff (Undeclared and Simpsons) and Hard Boiled (I've got The Killer instead).
Anyway, my vote is in.

DVD Talk Hero
A lot of titles cancel ouch each other here (I own all 20, er 19 with overlap), so ultimately it comes down to a battle between Star Wars and LOTR. Since I believe the EE set is a superior DVD release, I go with Cleaver.

It boils down to which list has more titles I'd like to watch and appreciate. Cleaver got my vote because of Lawrence of Arabia, Godfather, Monsters Inc, Pulp Fiction, Snow White, yes and LOTR. The only missing factor on both lists is a lack of foreign films (save for Hard Boiled, but its basically an action film.)
