That would be cool but highly unlikely.

Considering it will be a Universal release, forced trailers at the beginning.

I'm going to say a car commercial and one of those ads that tells you not to download movies because it makes so much sense to put that on the DVD that the person obviously bought or rented.

There were quite a few deleted scenes from it. A really cool one was...
Spoiler:
when Mal got stabbed, they actually showed the sword go through him, along with his hand extended

OMG I hate those commercials! and how stupid is that, to put it on a DVD THAT I JUST BOUGHT, ARRRRGGHHH!H!!!!!!!

Who do I write a nasty letter to about that anyway? The home video department of whatever studio that released it?

It never made sense to me that the two places I see these ads are on DVDs and in the theatre. It seems like they are preaching to the choir since the only people that see them are people that most likely paid for them.

Because they want to give us one more reason to not give them our money. And I will happily give them money for dvds, but hate seeing this crap on them.

Shouldn't the thread title read "DVDs"?

Like Universal isn't going to use this opportunity to milk the fans dry.

I read somewhere that there will not be a cast commentary (at least this time around), but Joss & someone else (producer maybe?) recorded one already..

I've read that there is going to be a featurette on the fans (The Browncoats) that has already been filmed at all the casts convention appearances over the last year.

A camera crew recording Joss Whedon's activities on Sunday (March 20) at Wizard World Los Angeles surprised many by turning its lens on the fans themselves.

Curious about the unusual turn of events, Zap2it.com accosted the trio of men, who revealed that they were taping footage for a piece on Whedon's fans, which will be edited together as a bonus feature for the DVD release of "Serenity."
Source: Zap2It.com

I also KNOW I read somewhere that Mr. Whedon has already recorded a (solo (?)) commentary, and that he hinted at a cast commentary for the double-dip. I couldn't tell if that last part was done tongue-in-cheek, because that Joss is a snarky one indeed.

Plus, as has been said earlier, this is Universal. There'll probably be four different Serenity DVDs by the time Wonder Woman comes out.

It won't be a 2-disc set. It will be a double sided dvd. Universal can't afford to make 2-disc sets anymore.

I was just going to say this...I'm actually hoping there won't be TOO many extras, because otherwise we'll get one of those damn Universal flippers that are prone to freezing and skipping.

A Universal insider has revealed to me that the upcoming Serenity disc will not only contain interactive menus, but also likely a scene selection! Here's hoping!!!

Yes yes, but I also have insider information that they're planning on skimping on the anamophic enhancement in the tradition of House...

Who cares if it's a flipper as long as we get INSERT!!

Also I have decided to no longer include an article before the word insert when discussing DVDs.
