I understand your point, and I quite agree. I consider the new edition of Stripes a botched job. Just pointing out, though, that both versions of the film are included. A practice I wish was standard. Don't appreciate having to buy two copies of the same film to get all its varying versions.

I favor releasing 2-disc sets. Theatrical cut on one, extended/director/unrated on the other. Hell, I might even accept dual-sided discs, although I don't care for them. The Butterfly Effect got that, with the Director's Cut having the better treatment (DTS and commentary). Far as I'm concerned, that's the way to present different versions of films on DVD.

Had to do a bump because it's almost time. I've been chomping at the bit to get ahold of a good transfer and sound. The extras are a bonus to me. Can't wait! "Fell of the jetway again"---priceless.

With an MSRP of $20 we can expect to see it at $10-15. That's a great price.

Remember the scene-ender how Lloyd looks away like "oh shit" when he realizes he was with Harry's girlfriend in the jacuzzi?
Or the fantasy "DIIIIEEEE!!!!" at the end.

I think all the add ons to this movie were horrible...Now I understand why people who grew up with Star Wars are so sensitive about the Special/Post-EpII editions

While its not a big deal to me, since I already had the original dvd, I did notice in the new version that at least one of songs was taken out of the movie, its the seen showing the exterior shots of the diner where they put the peppers on Mental's burger, it originally had a song Peter Pumpkinhead (I think thats the title, I believe it was a cover of an XTC song)
