3 New Warner Signature Collections - Nov. 8
We just got our new trade magazine at my video store and there was a nice big add, along with the already mentioned on this forum Christmas Classics Collection, for three new Signature Collections (which are basically repackagings of titles already out there). Here you go:
Henry Fonda: The Signature Collection
-Advise and Consent
-Battle of the Bulge
-Mister Roberts
-The Wrong Man
Katherine Hepburn: The Signature Collection
-Alice Adams
-Bringing Up Baby
-Little Women
-Philadelphia Story
-Stagedoor
and the one I am most intersted in because I don't have any of the films:
Bogie & Bacall: The Signature Collection
-The Big Sleep
-Dark Passage
-Key Largo
-To Have and Hae Not
* * *
Most of these titles are already available in other Warner sets (read: Hitchcock, Controversial Classics and Comedy Collection).
* * *
Edited to add: I've not seen these up for pre-order yet on Amazon.

Interesting. Same situation here, I have most of the films in the Fonda and Hepburn boxes, but I may pick up the Bacall box, though I was certain I heard of a Big Sleep re-issue?

I'm the same. I have 3 of the 4 Fonda movies, 3 of the 5 Hepburn movies, but none of the Bogie & Bacall movies.
Too bad they're re-packaging old movies or I'd pick up all three.

I wonder if the plan is to revamp some of these into 2 discers next year along with the Maltese Falcon. At any rate, I will snag this. I believe they will NOT be the snapper cases although it is hard to tell from the shot on the box. Same covers, however.
The front cover has a nice picture of Bogart leaning in for a kiss on Bacall. Nice black and white with both of their signatures on the bottom.

When will Mae West's early classics get a DVD release?
Still waiting for whoever currently owns the rights to the early movies of Mae West movies to release her early classic comedies such as She Done Him Wrong and I'm No Angel.
It is about time that this great star was given the recognition that she deserves for her really great contribution to comedy in Hollywood!

I'm starting to wonder if the add was printed in error. Thus far there are no pre-orders anywhere for these sets. Anybody find them anywhere?

So, here's hoping they are holding off on the release to do the updated transfers for the Bogie films.
