Looking forward to seeing it again - thanks for the heads up!
hooray!
Glad to hear there will be a 2-disc edition. Hopefully they'll end up including some of those things at which they hinted a month or so ago (background on Dahl, etc.).
Thanks for the early info. Will pick this one up.
Yes, trading cards!
Obviously, I'll be picking this up. Can't wait.
But, you know, will. K |

Warner has announced standard and deluxe editions of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which stars Johnny Depp, David Kelly, Helena Bonham Carter and Freddie Highmore. Both DVD's will be available to own from the 8th November this year. The standard single-disc set will retail at $28.98, whereas the double-disc edition should set you back around $30.97. Both will carry 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfers, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 EX track. Extras on the single-disc will include a Oomp-Loompa Dance Machine, a Becoming Oompa-Loompa: How Did They Turn One Man into Thousands of Oompa-Loompas?!? documentary and the theatrical trailer. Extras on the deluxe edition will include a featurette on Dahl's life story and extraordinary body of work, four interactive challenges (Oompa-Loompa Dance Machine, The Inventing Machine, The Bad Nut and Search For the Golden Ticket), a documentary on how live squirrels were taught to perform, five making of featurettes, and another feature on how one actor, Deep Roy, was turned into a multi-talented army of Oompa's.

Dolby 5.1 EX? Wow. Now I know it'll sound great.
Now, here's to hoping the WB puts both trailers on the set. |
I like the cover art for the Deluxe Edition! Which is the version I am going to pick up.
Awesome - Deluxe...here I come!
Nice! The extras aren't too far off from the survey I posted awhile back (well, except for the price!):
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=431546 In addition to the regular DVD of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", a special 2-disc version of the movie will be coming out at the same time. This 2-disc version will include additional special features not included with the regular DVD, including behind-the-scenes footage, movie commentary, a BBC special on the life of Roald Dahl, and a demo of the "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" videogame. If this 2-disc version is sold at places where you (or people you know) normally shop, how interested are you in buying (or having someone buy for you) a NEW 2-disc version of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" at a price of $22.95 within the first month after it comes out? |
No commentary? And the extras on the first and second discs all sound the same. Or am I reading it wrong?
Good flick, and nice sounding DVD, but I'm going to pass.
*Drool*
I can't wait to own this and dive into those special features. I loved this movie to bits. |
