Difference btw R and NC-17 rated versions of Bad Education

Anyone here know what exactly are the differences btw the R and NC-17 rated versions of "Bad Education"?

Thanks!

I would assume the BJ scene is missing.

Two sources indicate that there are no cuts, but that some scenes have Japanese-porn style optical blurring:

I saw the NC-17 version in a theater, and was wondering why it was NC-17 ... I guess just the gay angle. There is nudity and depictions of gay sex but nothing that wouldn't have been rated R if it were a man and a woman. The BJ scene was no more explicit than the comic one in the R-rated The Sweetest Thing, to mention one example.

I agree I thought the NC-17 rating was very harsh since the sex isn't that explicit (IMO).

Like every other Almodovar film the subtext of his works is much more explicit and suggestive than the actual feature, which was precisely the case with Bad Education. With this said its NC-17 rating was beyond harsh...yet typical for the US market.
