EDIT: The two standing facing front are the originals too

Both sets are Bruce Lee sets. The silver one is this: http://www.axelmusic.dk/productDetails/8809113252373 from Korea

The yellow tube contains a T-Shirt and is a part of this limited edition (5000 made) : http://www.axelmusic.dk/productDetails/4891670120008

From left to right:
Stephen King's Different Seasons (in Japanese), leather bookholder, 2Disc Amaray, 3 postcards, BFI Modern Classics: The Shawshank Redemption (in English). Forgot what the white book on the right is. It's completely in Japanese and also from BFI/Mark Kermode. Maybe the scriptbook.
Really a nice set, but pretty expensive.

ShallowHal:

Nice setup, but I think you can put those movie props at a different locale?

Seems a little out-of-place there, especially that I-Robot bust, or whatever that is. I'd swap out that space with a series of TV box sets.

Your collection would look so much neater. And the movie stuff can go next to or under the TV - or somewhere else.

Thanks, I like it.

The Sonny head is 15" tall, so putting it in the TV stand next to the Homicide sets isn't possible. I thought about putting the boxed sets on top, but I don't want to have to hit the ground every time I want a movie and get to the letter S. I put Sonny on the left and the Hand of Doom (also 15" tall) on the right for balance. That wall is the best place for my DVDs, so I like what I've done. I don't use the patio in cold weather, so using that space also opens up the rest of the room. I'm renting until I move out of state next summer, so it's good for now.

Had some massive changes since I posted almost two years ago. Got a brand new Toshiba DLP 52HM95 two weeks ago, Paradigm Monitor 3s and a Paradigm CC-370 earlier this year (Still need to get stands for them due to said new TV). In addition to coming close to doubling my DVD library and adding a new stand for them, which used to be my old AV rack up until two weeks ago.

And in the wide shot of the entire back of the room/all the DVD's in one image, sorry, but my macaw was on the stand and wouldn't get off so I could completely clear the room. She just had to be in one of the pictures I guess.

Shallowhal,

I really like your setup and I'm thinking of the exact samething. Just curious what if anything, do you use to keep your dvds standing up? thanks

tacos- Thanks! I have all the shelves full so there's no need to hold them up. 37 can fit per shelf if you want, but with 36 they're easy to slide out. When I did have open spots, I just used a new candle, or something else that won't look out of place. I'll have to put up a fourth bookshelf soon since I have more on the way, so I think I'll end up using the bottom shelves for books, a blanket, and other living room stuff. The bottom shelf is about 4" deeper than the top, so it could be a good spot for board games, too.

The link in your sig shows 69 DVDs, so they would fit on two shelves with just a little extra room.

I took pics of my HT because I just got an Infocus 4805 and just finished setting it up and calibrating it. So I thought I’d share them. I can’t believe how awesome that projector is. I thought I was in heaven when I got my 55" Mits, but THIS takes the cake.

First well start off with the screen. 106" fixed screen suspended from the ceiling 5" from the wall. Made by me with 1x3 pieces of wood and outer frame painted with a non-reflective black spray paint.

and from the viewing position...

Had to maneuver the speakers and stuff around now that there is no bulky TV to clog up space. And I must say, it sounds much nicer with all the speakers at the same listening level.

My neighbor was going to throw out this rack, so I took it and used it to save even more space. I like the fact that I didn't have to move my sub.

The Infocus 4805. I must say that I am incredibly impressed with the abilities of this thing. I'm NEVER going to the Theaters again!!! Notice the ghetto phone book stand. I'm moving in July and didn't want to really go crazy trying to mount it when this will do... for now.

And now... the collection, which never stops growing (currently at 1874)

I got tired of buying those $25 racks that only hold 250 DVD's (plus I was running out of room to put them), so I had to build my own (plus I wanted to have some shelf space on top of the racks to put more junk on). Here’s a close-up of one of them. Eash holds 500 DVD's and are about as thin as the DVD's themselves (I did it more to save on space). Both cost me a total of about $50 in materials.

Now, the projector in action. full room view...

and the from viewing perspective...

All in all, I'm incredibly pleased that my HT is pretty well finished and that the performance compared to what I've paid is remarkable. Now, if I could just get a house and make one room a dedicated HT, then I'll be happier.

Enjoy!! I know I am!!!

Looks nice! I have those same wood DVD stands and my bowes right in the middle just like your's. Pisses me off. I should really go the way of building my own as I would like to have a 'top shelf' to display some of the nicer boxsets or toys.

How much was you're projector?
