Bird with the Crystal Plumage 2-disc October 25th

Can't wait for this. Sounds great. "Recently discovered never-before-seen footage of explicit violence". Awesome. From DavisDVD:

The Bird With the Crystal Plumage

In his first film as writer and director, Dario Argento single-handedly created the giallo genre and instantly emerged as the filmmaker critics hailed 'The Italian Hitchcock'. Blue Underground will release the shocker The Bird With the Crystal Plumage on October 25th with a remastered 2.35:1 anamorphic transfer from the original camera negative - including recently discovered never-before-seen footage of explicit violence - along with English and Italian Dolby Digital 5.1 EX, Stereo and Mono tracks, an English DTS-ES track and subtitles.

Exclusive extras in this two-disc set will include a commentary track with journalists Alan Jones and Kim Newmano, international trailers, TV spots, and the all-new interview featurettes "Out Of The Shadows" (with Co-Writer/Director Dario Argento), "Painting With Darkness" (with Cinematographer Vittorio Storaro), "The Music Of Murder" (with Composer Ennio Morricone) and "Eva's Talking" (with Actress Eva Renzi). Retail is $29.95.

Cool. This is one of the few Argento films I don't already own, since I never got around to buying the single-disc version.

I really like the simplicity of that cover.

Now I just need to decide if I should sell my old one to get this one.

If this is how Blue Underground is going to be re-releasing the Argento titles, count me in for double dips.

I saw the old, crappy release and this instantly became my favorite (or one of my favorites) Argento film. What a twist. I can't wait to get this!

Probably still have to hold on the old release for the soundtrack.

October always puts a big hurt on my wallet. This is a must have for me, though.

I still haven't seen this film since I held off buying it after hearing about this BU release. Can't wait!
