My Beginning set discs 2 and 3 also have mixed up labels. I think others were mentioning this on that other forum.

Thanks all!

Sorry, I'm not aware of that 'other forum'!

There's lot of classic Doctor Who on sale at Amazon right now. Unfortunately not the few remaining ones I need. But you might want to take a look.

Just got my Beginning set and the labels are mixed too. Anyone knows a site or email to get this fixed?

Same here. I just wonder though if they will reprint these or just wait till that batch is sold out, which could be years...?

Re: The One & Only DOCTOR WHO DVD Thread (8th Incarnation)

The latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine (out today) has confirmed that The Moonbase will indeed have its own DVD release on the 21st October. Originally released as part of Lost in Time in 2004, the existing episodes two and four will be accompanied by animated versions of episodes one and three created by Planet 55 Studios, who provided the animated episodes for The Reign of Terror and the forthcoming The Tenth Planet
Hurray! More Patrick Troughton! Although I'm not a big fan of animation (the ones so far in any case) its good to have official releases of some of these missing stories.

Re: The One & Only DOCTOR WHO DVD Thread (8th Incarnation)

Looks like BBC America is shipping Series 7, Part 2 early. Some one on the Gallifrey board is reporting that he got it before next week's "game changing" episode. Others are reporting they've received "Your Order Has Been Shipped" today.

Expect spoilers to hit the net by the middle of the week.

They're already out. Those who don't want to be spoiled should be cautious...

I've noticed a mixture of potentially true spoilers and people bullshitting by claiming they have spoilers. The focus will narrow once more people get their hands on their pre-orders.

Yeah, I've read a few myself.

Some of them are quite intriguing, particularly one involving a certain guest star.

Re: The One & Only DOCTOR WHO DVD Thread (8th Incarnation)

BBC also has issued a statement asking people who wrongfully got their order before the final airing in the UK to keep the punches to themselves. Now, we'll see who's a good boy and who is Dalek-minded!
Remember The Crying Game!?

Having just purchased and watched the S7 first part DVD and found it particularly weak (Dalek Democracy? Happy Ending with the Weeping Angels reuniting Amy and Rory so they could live happily ever after? and so on and so on. C'mon!!!) I can't say I'm excited about the next parts of the series anyways.

Re: The One & Only DOCTOR WHO DVD Thread (8th Incarnation)

For the second half of Series 7, I really enjoyed "The Bells of St. John" but nearly fell asleep during "The Rings of Akhaten." I was a bit disappointed with "Nightmare in Silver." The rest of the episodes have been good.

I have enjoyed the recent run of episodes, but I think Hide and Cold War have been the stand outs.

Re: The One & Only DOCTOR WHO DVD Thread (8th Incarnation)

I'm behind but just watched The Bells of St. John...great opening but man it was terrible. I really hate where the show has gone and it's hard for me to understand what has happened to Steven Moffat. This is the guy behind Coupling, Jekyll, Sherlock...the guy who wrote Blink, one of the most brilliant episodes in 'Who history! But since taking over as show director, the show has taken a nose dive. It doesn't help that Matt Smith is awful...but at least if the story were good they could work around him. I may not make it to the end of this series.

Wow. The prices on the Battlefield and Ghost Light dvds are insane right now. I'm glad I got them from Mike's Comics before the prices got so high.

Why the hell is Battlefield so high? It's came out in 2009 and isn't set for a remaster. Did they not make enough?

If you are region free (which any good fan of British TV should be) they are on sale for less than $12 each shipped on Amazon.co.uk

It was one of the titles that went out of print a month ago. A few of the serials have gotten rereleased as special editions or are about to be released like that (Green Death, Inferno, The Visitation, The Aztecs, Vengeance on Varos), but most aren't planned for rerelease anytime soon. Here is the list from the OOP thread:

Doctor Who: Battlefield
Doctor Who: Black Orchid
Doctor Who: Earthshock
Doctor Who: Frontios
Doctor Who: Ghost Light
Doctor Who: Inferno
Doctor Who: Invasion
Doctor Who: Planet Of Fire
Doctor Who: Planet Of The Spiders
Doctor Who: Seeds Of Death (Special Edition)
Doctor Who: Terror Of The Autons
Doctor Who: The Awakening
Doctor Who: The Aztecs (Old Version)
Doctor Who: The Claws Of Axos (Old Version)
Doctor Who: The Curse Of Fenric
Doctor Who: The Green Death
Doctor Who: The Gunfighters
Doctor Who: The Mark Of The Rani
Doctor Who: The Rescue / The Romans
Doctor Who: The Time Meddler
Doctor Who: The Time Monster
Doctor Who: The Visitation
Doctor Who: The War Games
Doctor Who: The Web Planet
Doctor Who: Time Flight
Doctor Who: Vengeance On Varos (Old Version)

Re: The One & Only DOCTOR WHO DVD Thread (8th Incarnation)

You can get both Battlefield and Ghost Light at their regular price (30 odd for the first 20 odd for the second) from Amazon.CA. The Two Doctors isn't listed as OOP but goes for around 80$ on the market!!!

Re: The One & Only DOCTOR WHO DVD Thread (8th Incarnation)

I'm sure these will be back in print soon, maybe with new artwork/packaging. The Beginning and I think it was the E-Space Trilogy set both went out of print, only to get re-released with different packaging. Plus with the 50th Anniversary being months away and there being other classic Who releases this year they'll probably want to cash in on that.
