Pity that there is no DTS track offered, especially since the Batman SE boxed set offers this for the first four Bat films. I wonder if any non-Region 1 editions will feature such an audio option?
Not DTS? Grrrr.
I too will be annoyed if there is no DTS for the best batman movie ever, while B&R will deliver in all its DTS clarity "Ice to freeeeze you!!!" and "Sorry for da cold shoulduh""

In this universe, there's only one absolute... everything freezes! |

But, as I said,, I may have misunderstod the initial post. |
yeah you can't exactly count this as the OFFICIAL US RELEASE SPECS.
I guess those who thought that the other four Batman titles getting DTS was a sign of Warners finally embracing DTS were wrong. Looks like Warners is still only going to have DTS tracks for very special releases...which is a shame.
I do think it's ironic that the really BAD Batman movies (namely BATMAN FOREVER and BATMAN & ROBIN) get a DTS treatment, while the BEST Batman movie doesn't. |

B&R is one of the most qoutable movies in history! I remember before B&R was even released, WB was preparing for Batman Triumphant. Dick Grayson was away at college, and there he discovered the evil doctor Jonathan Crane doing his fear expiraments, and the caped crusader comes to help, but runs into Harlequin on the way. Harlequin was the daughter of Jack Napier, and she wanted revenge! It was rumored to have a scene with the Batmobile chasing Scarecrow through the dark woods on horseback. That would have been cool. But in a way B&R spawned Batman Begins.
I'll be buying this no matter what the specs are. Thanks for the info though even if it does changes a little for the official release.
Chut up!
At least we're getting the 2-disk SE right off the bat and not some bare-bones release.

As far as the lack of DTS, that's disappointing. But the rest of the specs look outstanding. |
Amen to Warner giving us a 2 disc special edition right of the bat (no pun intended). Good thing they did not try to milk us like Fox or Columbia.
screw DTS, what about the insert?!?!??!?
Looks good. Don't care about DTS.
can't wait to see this flick again!
Sounds good, 120 min of extras is decent enough.
"What killed the Dinosaurs? The ICE AGE!!" |

By my calculations the featurettes run for a total of one hour, 46 minutes, and 49 seconds. That's feature-length in my book. Very cool. Hope DTS does find its way onto this release, but Dolby Digital 5.1 is perfectly good. Some deleted scenes would be nice, too.
