I just watched the unrated version last night. It ended up being a little screwy plotwise, but overall I LOVED it. Some really fun and brutal gore scenes.
|
Well, I took a chance & ordered it thru Netflix since Tarantino commented that he got the unrated version from them.
It came in today & sure enough, it is the unrated disc. The weird thing is even the disc sleeve says that it is Rated R. Are the grunts no longer paying attention there? |
I just watched the version sent to me by Netflix and it is indeed the unrated version. The title screen of the disc itself says "Unrated High Tension".

I thought the characters (including the main character) acted pretty stupid during the entire movie also. The twist seemed a little interesting at first, but totally fell apart into absurdity. Movies like this need to make their own interior sense

I watched the Unrated verion last night.
I was pleased with it. I'm a huge horror and gore fan so I'd rate this above average. I think my GF thought I was disturbed when I cheered at the gory scenes |

dadaluholla- I 100 percent agree with you. In fact, it's even stated as that by the director on the DVD. However, I think the misunderstanding is because the director really didn't make it clear enough in the film. I don't need it spelled out, but it is easy to see why the majority of movie-goers think that

So let me get this straight, the Unrated cut of the film on DVD is in its original French, but the subtitles are from the dubbed English edition of the film, and not taken from the original French?? If I am following correctly that is....that sucks if true. Does it really take that much away from the film?
I got the 2 disc Dreamix version off Ebay like 6 months ago, in which was unrated, in French, with English subtitles which is great, I still got to see the film, but the whole 2nd disc is in French with no subtitles, so I am missing out on all the extras. I was going to duble dip too for the extras since I loved the film, but I am on the fence now. While the version I have is great, and sounds good I want the damn extras. Stupid LG! |
