Is "Billy's Dad Is a Fudge-Packer" short movie coming to DVD?

Does anybody know when the Fudgepackers special edition will be out on DVD? Thanks.

No, it was actually less sophisticated than that.

Did art put the OP up to this?

Joe Molotov 07-18-05 02:12 AM

So does anyone actually know what this thread is about? I didn't want to be the first person to say they'd never heard of Fudgepackers, but since the OP hasn't returned to offer an explanation...

Daniel L 07-18-05 03:58 AM

This has to be a joke, right?

nemein 07-18-05 06:09 AM

Actually there is a short listed in IMDB http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0426413/ which is the only reason this thread has remained open, even though IMHO I seriously doubt this will be released on DVD anytime soon (but I could be wrong).

Buford T Pusser 07-18-05 10:23 AM

I thought it was a joke and was surprised that it wasn't locked down right quick!

C'mon kids! Let's make this the best Fudgepackers thread in the DVD Talk forum ever!

tofferman 07-18-05 10:25 AM

Amazing that this thread even exists still...it should have disappeared yesterday.

nemein 07-18-05 10:32 AM

If it continues on like it is it probably will be locked. As it stands though since there is actually a movie short that exists w/ that title I can only assume the OP is asking a legit/serious question. So in the off chance it'll actually get a release and someone knows about it it's been left open.

Buford T Pusser 07-18-05 10:40 AM

Point taken. I'll try not to shit on this thread.

calhoun07 07-18-05 04:17 PM

I find it even more amazing that somebody who joined back in 2001 is still listed as a new member!

So, OP, was that short the movie you were talking about or what? Just curious!

No, and although you may have already been aware of this, the entire film is available on-line, in Quicktime format.

Or, were you hoping for some "extras." Perhaps some explication on such deep, meaningful lines of dialogue as:

"Betty offers some helpful hints for using the turkey baster."

(Warning: the following reply contains many spoilers)

Why lock this thread? An innocent story, I should think, one which Edwin Meese would have held up as a moral and upright as any film in recent times.

A few examples (Again, do not read on if you do not to be exposed to many spoilers.)

Narrator's voice: “Yes, Father is a fudge-packer.”
“He comes early five days a week to the Creamy Pleasures candy factory. Where, as a head supervisor, father has several men under him. And, likes to stay on top of things. He knows there will be less friction if his men work together -- as a well-oiled machine.”

“Father is a courteous boss--” (We see him helping a worker to sit down). “He knows Mr. Stevens appreciates the gesture of having his stool pushed in. But he also understands that its important to maintain his position… and he must be a little rigid.”

Sounds like something from TV Funhouse.

When can we expect Billy's Dad is a Fudgepacker: Criterion Collection?

Daniel L 07-19-05 12:43 AM

Ooh, can't wait to click on that Gay.com link.

This is dumb, can we lock this?
