I'll probabably get Man Who Fell to Earth. The others sound interesting. Might also pick up the Godard. I've only seen one other film of his (Breathless) but I loved it.

pro-bassoonist 06-30-05 12:01 AM

Excellent!! All 5 titles are solid and NAKED will make a lot of people happy. Godard is always a must!!!

It is going to happen, in fact I think that A LOT more Louis Malle is going to surface on the market. Stay tuned.

I'll definitely pick up Man Who Fell to Earth. I have to do some research on the others.

whew! And I was moments away from ordering NAKED (along with DUNE-UE) from Amazon.fr

Skoobooz 06-30-05 04:16 PM

This sounds like a very good batch of titles...I really look forward to seeing them, and to seeing the eventual features and likely excellent cover art Criterion will be posting within the next few days.

Katrin Cartlidge? I loved this actress, and her death was such a tragic gone-far-too-early sorta thing. It'll certainly be more than a little bittersweet hearing her discussing her work on this film. Does anyone know when this commentary was recorded (or at least her portion of it)?

The commentary is carried over from the LD, which came out in 1994.

darqleo 07-05-05 04:57 PM

This is all well and good, but I needs me some more Gilliam in my CC.
