I bought the UK R2 2-Disc Edition, the features are exactly the same and it doesn't skip a bit. It's truly cool to have free region DVD player

Hey guys.

So I bought this movie the first week (first pressing) when it came out a year or so ago. I finally got around to watching it all the way through and it definitely has the same glitch everyone speaks off.

What can I do at this point? It's been a LONG time since the DVD came out, I don't have a receipt, and I still would have to drop $20 to buy a new one (the 10th Anniversary version is still expensive, what gives?)

Who do I contact? universalstudios&[email protected] ?

I went through 3 copies at the store (they said they wouldn't take back the 3rd one), each one glitched at one point or another so I wrote to Universal and they let me mail it back to them, and a few weeks later I got a glitch-free disc. This IS a good release if you can get a copy that works. I've noticed they've put out a 1-sided disc with most of the extras dropped except for the deleted scenes, and that they've reissued Scarface without the extras as well.

I sent an email to Universal using that link someone posted. We'll see what happens, if anything

I exchanged my original copy back in December to Circuit City without a receipt, and after watching the replacement last night I discovered it skips in the same spot. I don't know where the receipt is for the replacement copy. Any suggestions about how to get a new copy? Should I try my luck at Circuit City again or just e-mail Universal?

if you paid with a credit card, i think they can look up your purchase on their computer. if you paid with cash, you're outta luck at the store.

What about amazon? I bought the Kolchak set more than 30 days ago, and recently just found a problem. Their return policy won't allow me to exchange them now.

Re: Glitch with Casino "Anniversary Edition"?

It seems that the "Anniversary Edition" is missing scenes. The confrontational scenes between Pesci and DeNiro are missing - the one in DeNiro's apartment where Pesci says he's acting like Barrymore with that robe on, and the one scene in the desert where Pesci says to DeNiro that he's been warned.

I also didn't see the confrontation between Pesci and the bank examiner, where Pesci was saying that after he got out of prison, he'd crack his head open again.

Or am I just crazy? Yeh, I got the freezing problems, too, but I'm more pissed off that those scenes are gone. And yeah, it's the first time I decided to sit down and watch this edition, as I had watched and re-watched my VHS copy to death.

I don't think it's missing scenes. I think your DVD is skipping them. I got freezing issues too, so I bought the single-sided version and had no problems. I'm not too bitter about the missing special features as long as the movie plays ok.

Checked mine out this morning and was fortunate not to have any freezing problems with the film or the flip side with the special features!

Oh well. I have the "Anniversary Edition," which freezes up, and JUST TODAY received the "Special Edition," so the hell with it. I double-dipped, but it's too good a movie to not have.
