New version of Waking the Dead?

I've been looking around trying to buy this, and I'm running into conflicting info. Some places list the dvd as a 2000 release, some list 2005. The review talks about deleted scenes and a commentary, but none of the listings that talk about 2005 show them.

Did they re-release this as a new barebones disk or something?

Sometimes you'll see newer release dates when there is a price drop. I think sometimes they do it to get the titles listed with the actual new releases so people who just look at new releases will notice them.

I just checked the Amazon listings for WTD and the old release was put out by USA Films, which is defunct. Universal got the rights to their films and the "new" release has them listed as the studio. This is probably another case where Universal has repackaged the old release but with their logo, like they did with other titles from USA Films such as Traffic and Being John Malkovich.

The DVD is damn near perfect in terms of supplements. If they've bare boned it, by all means seek out the USA Films version.

Ok, thanks for the info.
