It came out in 2003, but is now out of print. Here's a review: http://www.dvdauthority.com/reviews.asp?ReviewID=3467

I've never even heard of a SE re-release besides the speculation their might be one to coincide with a supposed prequel being made. (is that still on?) My recommendation is to hold on to any dvd until the SE has been reviewed or is in stores.

oh right.... so i'd say its better to wait for the sequel to come out which will surely spawn off a SE release for the original....... agreed???

cheers again!

What e-tailers? I haven't seen this in stock anywhere online. At least at the stores I trust. Walmart, BB, CC, DVD Empire, Amazon

There IS supposed to be a re-release btw. Can't remember where i'd read it so I'd have to find the link. This is Universal. I'm SURE they're going to re-release it, probably with a trailer and featurette for the new movie plus some "movie cash."

But I think that's the non-anamorphic version of "Carlito's Way"

They almost did, and it was posted on various sites as pre-release artwork, but apparently the studio received a heavy volume of negative feedback almost immediately, so they reverted back to the original theatrical artwork before releasing the title, thank heavens...

I bought the two-pack when it first came out and it had the anamorphic "Collector's Edition".

This sounds pretty much just like the Collector's Edition.

Hmmm...doesn't seem like much of an "ultimate" edition. No DePalma commentary? I'll be surprised if Pacino is in the featurettes. Those special features are meager. Oh well; I still have to have it. I hope the artwork isn't much different; the original theatrical one-sheet was great.

I don't think DePalma does commentary on any of his discs...correct?
