BBC History Of World War II?
 

This set is set for release on July 19, 2005. It's a 12 disc set. Anyone familiar with this set? I have "The World at War" set and love it. Just wondering if this is completely different from the World at War and if it's any good.

It's completely different from the World at War; the BBC collection consists of a number of individual documentaries collected into one box rather than a series of documentaries.

The Nazis, A Warnng From History and Auschwitz: inside the Nazi State are 6-episode, 300-minute mini-documentary-series, and damnit I just bought Auschwitz. War of the Century. Dunkirk, War in the Atlantic and Horror in the East are shorter. Most have been on The History Channel in the last 5 years or so.

All the ones I've seen are of high quality and many benefit from the opening of Soviet war records and other sources that were unavailable when World at War was made..

It looks like a bargain to me.
