Team America WS Vs. Team America UR editions

I bought the regular WS release not knowing that there was an unrated version. I tried a few other stores (Walmart, Kmart, Target) and even Blockbuster (which normally carries an UR version if it's available). I figure the only place that has it is Best Buy, which there are none of around here.

Anyway, is there that much more to the UR version and are those added scenes included as deleted scenes in the regular WS version? Is it worth making a trip over if I already own the regular?

its just the sex scene that is extended by a minute or two, all the other extras are the same. (the creators even have said that they put the more graphic shots of sex in the original cut so that the mpaa would be more relaxed at other content.)

DVDAnswers.com has some screen caps if you want to see them.

98min Vs 97min. I haven't watched either yet, so I'm no help.

i saw a clip on the internet where there were many different positions. dont know if those made the unrated cut though

Fok 05-18-05 04:38 PM

Just because of the minutes, its considered unrated, man they should of just released one extended edition.

The extra sex scenes are hillarious and well worth it, but I was dissapointed there was no money shot. I mean come on Matt and Trey, after all that you have to deliver the goods.

My Walmart didn't have the unrated version, but my Target had plenty. Perhaps yours was out.

Walmart does not carry the unrated version. In fact, I could be wrong, but they never sell unrated version of movies.

They sell the unrated version of Blade:Trinity.I'm sure there are others as well.

That's possible because there were none left in the front display, only in the back of the DVD section. Oh well, a friend of mine is going to buy the unrated and I'll just see this extra minute with his. No biggie.

I really thought for sure that they would have the standard porno masturbation/victimization scene. Complete with an offscreen hypodermic of Jergens being deployed.

Man! Was I wrong.

Best movie of that year (even edited/better uncut).

The Wal-Mart where I live started carrying "Badder Santa" a couple of weeks after it was released when it became clear that was the version everybody wanted. Wal-Mart sticks by its principles right up until they start losing sales to competitors.

thats the one where mine changed too. I remember bad santa being out and i asked for badder santa and someone told me Wal-Mart wouldn't carry UR movies, but like 2-3 weeks later they had it, and from that point on, they have had all of them, but they still carry about 75% Foolscreen copies of the DVDs they have...

If the only differences in the two releases are the acts shown on the DVDAnswers site, I will be skipping the unrated version.

Drexl 05-19-05 07:31 AM

The extra footage probably isn't even 20 seconds long. I guess it's enough to just put it over 98 minutes, whereas before it was 97 minutes and 50 seconds or something like that.

About Badder Santa - my brother told me someone he works with bought it after he already had Bad Santa, thinking it was a sequel.

Just what I was about to say. They do carry unrated movies but it really varies from title to title and from store to store.

SteveBlair 05-19-05 08:21 AM

I live in a city just outside of Toronto, Canada and at our mall NO ONE is even carrying the theatrical version. HMV, Music World, Cinema1....all had big displays of the uncensored version only.

A little poo poo and pee pee.

sougouk 05-19-05 02:55 PM

I just bought it the other day at Futureshop in Montreal,Canada.
It's the ugly billingual cover with "Uncensored" in red with and the entire
team. Is the Uncensored Canadian version the same as the
Uncensored & Unrated version from USA? I really hate when studios do this.

Thanks

I just picked up the same thing at Costco. Yeah all the double language is annonying, but I am certain it contains the same unrated cut of the movie and is the 98 min version.

This is correct. The reason it's not called Unrated in Canada, is that this version actually WAS rated (18A)
