I agree. One of Joan Allen's best roles.

I hope that is a joke. It will definitely come out and I hope there is an option for unedited fights. An interview at the end of April stated that they are going to work on a Second Season in July.

If you liked Joan Allen in this, you'll really like her in The Upside of Anger. Although her performance in The Contender is one of my favorite.

Seriously, I have no clue.

Jokingly, The Contender is my favorite Joan Allen film. If Ellen Burstyn hadn't been nominated for Requiem, I'd totally be behind Joan.

I can't wait for this show to hit DVD

Mike Lowrey 05-12-05 02:43 PM

Sly said on Hannity & Colmes this week that there may not be another season.

I love the show, but I can't see myself ever watching it again. Not much fun when you no who wins each fight IMO.

Un-edited fights would be slightly tempting though.

i think this show just got cancelled.

is there some unwritten rule that all reality shows must finish to the end, despite cancellation?

thelwig14 05-17-05 07:08 AM

Link?

I don't know, but concerning The Contender, there's only two shows left. The last Final Four fight next Sunday, and then the grand finale next Tuesday which is going to be Live.

Fox News talked about this yesterday and they mentioned to check out their website for a full list of fall programs, and they said that Contender wasn't on it.

And from what Sly said on H&C, it doesn't appear there'll be another season of the show. Which is ashame because this show, along with American Idol are the only two reality TV shows I've been watching lately.

Usually they are taped in advance, so finishing isn't a problem. But that doesn't mean they will all be aired. Witness "My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss." But at least the unaired episodes of MBFOB was made available on-line for free.

They just aren't doing an second season. The Contender is on this Sunday, and then the finale with the bronze fight and championship are on Tuesday.

They're doing a 3rd Place fight? I didn't know that. Are you sure?

Josh H 05-17-05 12:49 PM

That's what they are saying in the thread in TV talk.

slcsnkman 05-17-05 12:50 PM
