Ew, yeah - it is a little thicker - but that's a very minor nitpick - I'll take thicker packaging over something that causes floaters and scratched discs.
Because I have an optimistic view of humanity, I'll take the above comment as sarcasm. Well done, sir.

Maybe it's better that the packaging is a little flimsier rather than too rough. Everyone remember T2 Extreme Edition? I swear, I heard stories about that metal case cutting people, tearing nearby cases, all sorts of crap.

The included flyer may be some relief to collectors concerned with the packaging. It reads:
"For all those that fear change... For those those anal-retentive nerds who like their DVD boxes to line up perfectly on the shelf... For all those who dislike storing their digital media inside a hollowed-out human head, have we got a deal for you:
Just call [1-800 #] for a very derivative, old-style just-like-before box with almost nothing new or creative to annoy or terrify you. Enjoy!"
I ommitted the actual # for now, since this isn't supposed to be out yet.

Nice move, Fox!
Now will all you little children stop bitching?

I hope that they'll run the "old packaging" promotion for a while, because I probably won't be picking this up on release date, and will wait for the DDD sale.

I will call the number and request a new box for sure. And I think I will add something about them being money grubbing cretins to raise their anal retentive nerds!!!! Even if the box is sturdier than it looks, I am calling. I feel like it's placing a vote to tell them to not do this again.

Sorry man, I just do them alphabetically, and that's what came next. The funny thing is that I actually considered trying to crop it in the camera, then thought, "Ahh...I'll see if someone mentions it"

I'm glad they're looking so far ahead with season sets though... hopefully the 2 seasons a year schedule continues... if not making releases even quicker. I know I know, probably not possible and it's probably not probable. But hey, a fella can dream.
