You're passing on this season just because of the different packing? No offense but that is a lame reason

I'm passing on it because I don't like the insert.

I can say it sucks based on the fact that the damn thing looks flimsy.

Ew, yeah - it is a little thicker - but that's a very minor nitpick - I'll take thicker packaging over something that causes floaters and scratched discs.

Because I have an optimistic view of humanity, I'll take the above comment as sarcasm. Well done, sir.

If its such a good season, i dont see why the packaging would turn you off. Just go purchase a case and put in a custom cover that matches the other sets. Its the content that really matters, anyway.

Maybe it's better that the packaging is a little flimsier rather than too rough. Everyone remember T2 Extreme Edition? I swear, I heard stories about that metal case cutting people, tearing nearby cases, all sorts of crap.

The included flyer may be some relief to collectors concerned with the packaging. It reads:
"For all those that fear change... For those those anal-retentive nerds who like their DVD boxes to line up perfectly on the shelf... For all those who dislike storing their digital media inside a hollowed-out human head, have we got a deal for you:
Just call [1-800 #] for a very derivative, old-style just-like-before box with almost nothing new or creative to annoy or terrify you. Enjoy!"

I ommitted the actual # for now, since this isn't supposed to be out yet.

Oh wow, cool!

Even though I do like this packaging, I might want to get that too just for the hell of it!

Nice move, Fox!

Now will all you little children stop bitching?

I'd laugh my ass off it the phone # was all some kind of ruse, so when people call it, an automated voice just chastises the hell out of all the anal retentive folks.

I hope that they'll run the "old packaging" promotion for a while, because I probably won't be picking this up on release date, and will wait for the DDD sale.

I will call the number and request a new box for sure. And I think I will add something about them being money grubbing cretins to raise their anal retentive nerds!!!! Even if the box is sturdier than it looks, I am calling. I feel like it's placing a vote to tell them to not do this again.

Sorry man, I just do them alphabetically, and that's what came next. The funny thing is that I actually considered trying to crop it in the camera, then thought, "Ahh...I'll see if someone mentions it"

As far as I know, L comes before M, so "Silk Stalkings" should precede "Simpsons, The" on an alphabetical listing.

Ahhh, now that's some awesome news. I'm guessing my nasty email I wrote to Fox last month wasn't the only one.

I'm not sure about the first nine pages, but I wanted to add that I'm really looking forward to season 6 hitting DVD...and I can't wait to see Homer's head...it ought to be interesting!

I'm glad they're looking so far ahead with season sets though... hopefully the 2 seasons a year schedule continues... if not making releases even quicker. I know I know, probably not possible and it's probably not probable. But hey, a fella can dream.
