"Made in Taiwan"?

In the Quantum Leap S3 set I picked up today, I noticed that Disc 2 looked very different from the others. It has a well defined outer edge, which the first and third discs lacked.

Then I looked closer and noticed stamped near the center hub in green, between the side A and side B rings, was this: Made in Taiwan.

I looked at the other two and nothing was stamped there. Didn't see anything about where they were made on them.

It's a Region 1 set and they all say Region 1.

Any idea what this means, if anything? To me, the Made in Taiwan disc seems of better quality. I'm guessing the others were made in Mexico. Anyone else have Taiwan-made discs in their set, or even all Taiwan discs???

Ok. Now we have both "Made In Mexico" and "Made In Taiwan" threads now :)

The Made in Mexico thread

To me, they are all DVDs that play well. The only noticeable difference is the words "Made in ?" somewhere on the disc.

I'm just wondering why in a three-disc set one was made in Taiwan and the other two apparently weren't.

And it was when I started noticing Made in Mexico stickers that I also started noticing new DVDs with scratches and scuffs on them.
