What movies do you regret not

buying that you have yet to see and still consider a possible good blind buy?

List as many or all that you can think of.

dick_grayson 05-09-05 03:54 PM

Have idea no talking about I.

illennium 05-09-05 04:22 PM

Neither. me

Aphex Twin 05-09-05 04:28 PM

Why would you regret something that you can just go out and do?

Cygnet74 05-09-05 04:28 PM

you want recommendations for "good blind buys" from people that haven't seen them?

MrVette99 05-09-05 04:49 PM

Let's rephrase. Films you are curious about, but can't quite bring yourself to buy, but you can't stop thinking about. For me, recently, it's Electra. I'm hoping to burrow it. I wuv Jennifer Garner, but am all but certain the film blows camel choad.

Jason 05-09-05 04:51 PM

I keep thinking about getting Battle Royale.

You're hoping to dig a hole and bury it?

Cygnet74 05-09-05 05:12 PM

in that case, the Hou Hsiao Hsien box set.

I think you just need to get a Netflix account and delete this thread.

rw2516 05-09-05 05:23 PM

There are OOP titles I wish I'd gotten
SWAMP THING
THE EXTERMINATOR
MANIAC COP

The Antipodean 05-09-05 05:33 PM

I hear renting movies is a great way to check them out without actually buying them.

Considering the title in question, I would say that's a tremendous idea.

BiMonSciFiCon 05-09-05 05:55 PM

I don't think i have ever been in the position of regretting not buying a movie that i didnt see that i thought might possibly still be a good blind buy

Damn it Ben Affleck (a.k.a MrVette99)! I knew you didn't write any of Good Will Hunting. :)

Joking aside, the only films that I have not seens and should have bought were probably the Three Colors Trilogy. The only reason I would mention that one in particular is because I saw it with a 14.99 sticker at Borders shortly after it came out. I didn't know the MSRP at the time or I would have bought it.

Missed opportunities aside I don't see why folks wouldn't either just buy the movies they want to see or rent them (especially since you can get 2.5 months of online renting for free from the various sources).

djtoell 05-09-05 07:56 PM

I regret not that I have but one life to give for my DVDs.

Djangoman 05-09-05 08:32 PM

Ahh... you mean, titles which you wanted to buy, but didn't buy. Then after all these years you find them hard to find, or even OOP. Then you said, "Ah, if only I bought that titles at the very first time...I gotta have them in my next shopping list .." Is this it?

gutwrencher 05-09-05 08:34 PM

I'm bumping this because most DVD Talk people are not putting enough effort into answering this question. Push!!!! Put your backs into it. Pusshhhhhhh!!!!!!

Fok 05-10-05 02:25 PM

nemein 05-10-05 02:27 PM

Personally I think we should let this thread die a peaceful death....
