Walt Disney's Timeless Tales 08.16.05 Classic Disney Shorts Not Treasure Tins

from the bits

Buena Vista has also announced the DVD release of Walt Disney's Timeless Tales: Volume 1 and Walt Disney's Timeless Tales: Volumes 2 for 8/16 (SRP $19.99 each). Each disc will include 6 classic animated shorts "hand-picked from the Disney vaults." Volume 1 is expected to include The Prince and the Pauper, Three Little Pigs and The Tortoise and the Hare (plus two others), while Volume 2 will deliver Ugly Duckling, The Country Cousin and The Wind in the Willows (plus two more). You'll find cover artwork below.

That artwork is old (as is the news); it was slightly revised so that both colors feature a similar color scheme now. And neither DVD will contain "6 classic animated shorts"; one will house five, the other four.

Great, yet another bad sign that they might not do the Disney Treasures anymore.

Unless anyone has any other news on them?

There are four Walt Disney Treasures tentatively scheduled for this December, just like how there was in December 2001 (Wave 1) and May 2003 (Wave 3). I don't know why we're to assume that Disney would ignore their popular niche market for Treasures purely because they're trying to reach other markets with lower-priced, non-comprehensive releases of popular cartoon shorts.

If anybody has this...is the Three Little Pigs the same as on the Treasures, or is it uncensored?
