Million Dollar Baby set for 7/12/05

Million Dollar Baby was just announced for release on July 12. Eastwood does better this time than he did for Mystic River. Remember, MR had a 1-disk barebone version and a 3-disk set which had the same 1st disk, lots of bonuses on disk 2 and disk 3 the soundtrack.

DVDFILE says that MDB will be released in a 2-disk set with lots of extras and a 3-disk, which of course is the same as the 2 disk set plus the 3rd disk soundtrack. SRP of $29.95 for the 2-disk set and $39.95 for the 3-disk set.
Separate widescreen and full screen.

I wouldn't say it "was just announced". And there's no 2 disc set only a 1 disc and the 3 disc including the soundtrack.

Yeah this just came up for pre-order on Columbia House's website. They list it as a 2-disc.

There is no 1-disc version. Amazon has them all for preorder.

This film moved Pulp Fiction out of number 2 on my all time favorite movie list, so I can't wait to get it and watch it every day for a month!!!

I've also heard that there is a 2 disc SE, and a 3 disc that you only need to buy if you also want the sountrack.

I think it's worth reiterating that there will be NO one disc version of Million Dollar Baby. (They are not doing a "Mystic River" with this release.) There will be the 2 disc release and a 3 disc deluxe edition that includes the soundtrack.

Already have the soundtrack, so I'll stick with the standard release.

Do you think Best Buy will do a pricing error on the deluxe set ($21.99) like they did for Mystic River last year ?

Was that on the website or in-store?

Can't wait for this disc but I really hate how Warner Brothers is releasing these deluxe sets. Not a fan of them.

That's my exact number 1 and 2 with Pulp Fiction slipping to 3. Pretty cool.

Actually, MR was even worse. The 1-disk version was not the same first disk, as it did not have the commentary on the first disc of the 3-disk deluxe version. So if you wanted any extras at all, you had to buy the deluxe version.

Thanks for this news. I loved this movie in the the theatre, and I'm looking fwd to seeing if I like it as much now that I've wrestled with it for a little while. It's not my favorite ever, but it's a damn good movie.

I concur with you. supplemental special features I can do without, because I never view them anyway, due to the lack of time. I am only interested in the movie itself, especially if you have a large collection of other DVDs to watch.
