Six Feet Under Season 4 8/23/05

Hot on the heels of season 3 (as discussed here) Six Feet Under season 4 will be released on 8/23/05 as reported by TVShowsOnDVD

HBO Home Video will release Six Feet Under: The Complete Fourth Season on August 23. This 5 disc set will contain all 12 episodes, and loads of bonus materials. The set will sport an Anamorphic Widescreen (1.78:1) transfer, with English Dolby Digital 5.1 and English, French and Spanish 2.0 audio tracks, with matching subtitles.

Here's a look at the extras for the set:

* 20 Minute Featurette "Cut by Cut: Editing Six Feet Under"
* "Costas DVD Plus" - Bob Costas interviews the Six Feet Under cast
* 7 audio commentaries
* Season 1-3 recap

The set will retail for $99.98, the same are previous seasons.

I love the box art. This is great, couple months after 3, we get 4. I assume to tie in with the Series Finale of SFU.

That cover looks creepy. I'm not a fan of birds. Anyways, glad to see season 4 being released so quickly after season 3. I discovered this show on dvd since I don't get HBO.

Thanks for the info.

One day after my birthday. I see a belated by-one-day birthday present for me in the near future.

Cover art is awesome.

Holy schamoly! I saw the thread title and was thinking, 'Damn, Season 3 got pushed back to August now? That sucks.' Season 4 now? Right on.

WOW...nice job on HBO's end to push this one up. I missed season 4 on TV, so this season will be new to me.

I love this show, but would never get them on DVD, too much money for only 13 episodes, even though I have bought the Sopranos DVD's so far, its just insane how HBO gets away with charging so much.

Insanity in this instance is entirely subjective. This is a mandatory pick-up for me. Fantastic box art!

First these cable networks overcharge for as few as 14 episodes and now we are expected to swallow 12 episodes for $100! No way! This is ridiculous the average number of episodes in a typical TV season is approximately 22. That people are willing to buy these faux seasons on DVD at such a high price will only encourage HBO, Showtime...

HBO seasons are all about quality, not quantity. Considering this will be on sale for $70 or so the first week, it's not so bad. Or you can wait longer, and pick it up used for cheaper.

Given that an average episode of SIX FEET UNDER is also about 15 or 20 minutes longer than your network television "hour" drama, we could technically argue we're getting as much as 15 episodes.

WOW! Both seasons relatively close to each other! (I also thought it was a push back with a 4 instead of 3 typo.)

Great news!

Yet you will pay $18 or so for a 1 1/2 movie, yet won't pay $100 MSRP (most likley $70 first week of release) for 12 hours? Yeah, THAT makes no sense.

I think the dvds are well worth it. Also, who the hell pays full retail price?
