Is the Patton 2 Discs Special Edition anamorphic?

I've seen the single disc marked as being anamorphic, but behind the case of the 2 Discs versions, there's no signs of Anamorphic, I was just wondering is it?

Premise 05-01-05 10:49 PM

Yes.

Chris777 05-01-05 11:00 PM

That's good, was just gonna pick that up, thanks.

DVD Josh 05-01-05 11:52 PM

What? No, it isn't.

X 05-02-05 12:12 AM

I haven't opened mine yet but the front has a sticker that says "All New THX Approved 16x9 Transfer" if that helps.

Premise 05-02-05 12:27 AM

The Dvdtalk Review of the 2 discer says that it is.

How're you gonna pick it up? The 2-disc is OOP long time ago, isn't it?

Chris777 05-02-05 02:42 AM

Ebay, sorry i didn't mean to make sound like i was just gonna go to the store and grab a copy.

Filmmaker 05-02-05 08:19 AM

DVD Josh, don't be lying--I own the original 2-disc release and it is certainly, unquestionably anamorphic.

hondo21 05-02-05 08:21 AM

Absolutely anamorphic, from the very start. To my knowledge there has never been a non-anamorphic DVD of Patton, at least in Region 1.

Mike Lowrey 05-02-05 11:13 AM

How do you tell if the Patton 2-disc Special Edition is anamorphic? You make the other poor dumb bastard die for his DVD. :rimshot:

Of course I must be lying. I couldn't be mistaken. -rolleyes-

Filmmaker 05-02-05 03:21 PM

When you say it so matter-of-factly, without a preface of "as I recall" or "if I'm not mistaken" or somesuch, then it sounds like lying...

Well, when you speak as plainly, it just sounds like you are a jerk.

Just calling a spade a spade, my friend...take it as a lesson on how to respond to questions in the future wherein you're not 100% certain as to the answer, or just keep pouting--your choice.

DVD Josh, this really isn't necesary, especially the personal attack. Please don't let it happen again.

And, Filmmaker, though his response was out of line, this comes across fairly rude. As such, I would ask that you consider other ways of phrasing your concerns.

Frenzal Rhomb 05-02-05 09:43 PM

Cheers guys!

Filmmaker 05-03-05 11:38 AM

I consider being truthful to be of greater concern than being tactful so I have a bad feeling I'll continue to "disappoint" in the future...we'll see...

unclehulot 05-03-05 12:12 PM

Sheesh, can't we lock this down so I don't keep clicking on the topic thinking some actual information is forthcoming? I think the question was answered in the 2nd post followed by all this.... stuff. Pretty soon Patton's gonna come along and slap youse guys!

Frenzal Rhomb 05-03-05 12:42 PM

Ok so once and for all, this one is indeed anamorphic, enough said now. close this one!

Only on the Internet...

The question was answered correctly (with one word) in the very first response. Yet, the bickering and responses -- including this one -- continue. You gotta love it.

What do you mean, "Only on the Internet"? That's exactly how every conversation I have with my friends in real life goes. :D
